(1) The Church of Rome cannot free themselves from the Charge of Idolatry, because it is here faid; that an Idol is nothing; nor bea caufe their images are real, and represent something real; for several of the Idols among the Heathens represented real Beings, as the Sun, Moon, and other Creatures. The Meaning of this Maxim is, that an Idol has no Virtue or Power, nothing that it is ofteemed to have by them that Worship it. This the Apostle proves, because there is no Ged but one.
