18 And Jehosshaphat bowed his Head, with his Face to the Ground: and all Judah, and the Inhabitants of Jerusalem sell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord.
19 And the Levites of the Children of the Cohathites, of the Children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud Voice on high.
20 And they rofe early in the Morning, and went forth into the Wildernefs of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood, and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye Inhabitants of Jerusalem, Believe in the Lord your God, so shall you be Established; Believe his Prophets, so shall ye Prosper.
21 And when he had consulted with the People, he appointed Singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the Beauty of Holiness, as they went out before the Army, and to say, g Praise the z p/y. 25 And when Jehoshaphat and his People came to take away the Spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both Riches with the dead Bodies, and precious Jewels (which they stript off for themselves) more than they
could carry away: and they were three Days in gathering of the Spoil, it was so much.
26 And on the fourth Day they assembled themselves in the Valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the Lord: therefore the Name of the same Place was called, The Valley of Berachah unto this Day.
27 Then they returned every Man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the Forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with Joy: for the Lord had made them to rejoice over their Enemies.
18 And they came to Jerusalem with Psalteries, andHarps, and Trumpets, unto the House of the Lord.
29 And the Fear of God was on all the Kingdoms of thofe Countries, when they had heard that the Lord fought against the Enemies of Israel.
3 o So the Realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet; for his God gave him Rest round about.
35 And aster this did Jehoshaphat King of Judah join himself with Ahaziah King of Israel, who did very wickedly.
36 And he joined himself with him to make Ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the Ships in Ezion-gaber.
37 Then Eliczer prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast Joined thyself with Ahaziah, the Lord hath Broken thy Works. And the Ships were Broken, that they Were not able to go to Tarshissh.
1 Kings XXII.
51 Ahaziah the Son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth Year of Jehoshaphat King of Judah, and reigned two Years over Israel.
52 And he did Evil in the fight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his P'ather, and in the way of his Mother, and in the way of Jeroboam, who made Israel to fin.
53 For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to Anger the Lord God of Israel, according to all that his Father had done.
II. KINGS, CHAP. I.
I Moab rebelleth. 2 Ahaziah sending to Baalzebub, hath his Judgment by Elijah. 5 Elijah twice bringeth Fire from Heaven upon them whom Ahaziah sent to apprehend him: 13 He pitieth the third Captain, and encouraged by an Angel, telleth the King of his IXeath: Jehoram succeedetb Ahaziah.

2 And Ahaziah sell down through a Lattess in his upper Chamber that was in Samaria, and was fick: and he sent Meflengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the God of Ekron, whether I shall recover of this Disease.
3 But the Angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the Meflengers of the King of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the God of Ekron?
4 Now therefore thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not come down from that Bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed.
5 And when the Meflengers turned back unto him, ha said unto them, Why are ye now turned back?
6 And they said unto him, There came a Man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go turn again unto the King that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Ii it not because there is not a God in Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of Baalzebub the God of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that Bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.
7 And he said unto them, What manner of Man was he which came up to meet you, and told you thefe Words?
8 And they answered him, He was an hairy Man, and girt with a Girdle of Leather about his Loyns. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.
9 Then the King sent unto him a Captain of fifty, with his fifty: and he went up to him (and behold, he sat on the top of the Hill) and he spake unto him, Thou Man of God, the King hath said, Come down.

10 And Elijah answered and said to the Captain of fifty, If I be a Man of God, then let Fire come down from Heaven and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down Fire from Heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
11 Again also he sent unto him another Captain of fifty, with his fifty: and he answered and said unto him, O Man of God, thus hath the King said, Come down quickly.
12 And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a Man of God, let Fire come down from Heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the Fire of God came down from Heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
13 And he sent again a Captain of the third fifty, with his fifty: and the third Captain of fifty went up, and came and sell on his Knees before Elijah, and befought him, and said unto him, O Man of God, I pray thee, let my Lise, and the Lise of thefe fifty thy Servants be precious in thy fight.
14 Behold, there came Fire down from Heaven, and burnt up the two Captains of the former fifties, with their fifties: therefore let my Lise now be precious in thy fight.
15 And the Angel of the Lord said unto Elijah, Go down with him, be not asraid of him. And he rofe, and went down with him unto the King.
16 And he said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Forasmuch as thou haft sent Messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the God of Ekron (is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his Word?) therefore thou shalt not come down off the Bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.
17 So he died, according to the Word of the Lord which Elijah had spoken : and Jehoram reigned in his stead, in the second Year of Jehoram the Son of Jehoshaphat King of Judah; because he had no Son.
C H A P. II.
I Elijah taking his leave o/EHjha, with his Mantle dividetb Jordan, 9 and granting Elista his Requests is taken up by a fiery Chariot into Heaven. 12 Elista dividing "Jordan with Elijah's Mantle, is acknowledged his Succefior. 16 The young Prophets hardly obtaining Leave to seek Elijah, could not find him. 19 Elista with Salt healeth the univholsome Waters. 23 Bears dcfiroy the Children that mocked Elista.
Ver. 1 A ND it came to pass when the Lord would take A up Elijah into Heaven by a Whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elissha from Gilgal.
2 And Elijah said unto Elissha, Tarry here, I pray thee: for the Lord hath sent me to Beth-el. And Elisha said unto him, As the Lord liveth, and as thy Soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Beth-el.
3 And the Sons of the Prophets that were at Beth-el came forth to Elissha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy Master from thy Head To-day? And he said, Yea, I know it, hold you your peace.
4 And Elijah said unto him, Elissha, tarry here, I pray thee: for the Lord hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy Soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
5 And the Sons of the Prophets that were at Jericho came to Elissha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy Master from thy Head To-day? And he answered, Yea, I know it, hold you your Peace.
6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here: for the Lord hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy Soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.
7 And fifty Men of the Sons of the Prophets went, and stood to view assar off: and they two stood by Jordan.
8 And Elijah took his Mantle and wrapt it together, and smote the Waters, and they were divided hither and thither, To that they two went over on dry Ground.
9 And it came to pass when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elissha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elissha said, I pray thee, let a double Portion of thy Spirit be upon me.
10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard Thing: neverthelefs, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
11 And it came to pass as they still went on, and talked, that behold there appeared a Chariot of Fire, and Horses of Fire, and parted them both asunder, and Elijah went up by a Whirlwind into Heaven.
12 And Elissha saw it, and he cried, My Father, my Father, the Chariot of Israel, and the Horsemen thereof.
