THIS Selection of PSALMS AND HYMNS having been for some time out of print, the present Edition has been undertaken at the request of several of the Clergy in whose Churches it is used. The Copy from which it is re-printed is the seventh Edition, published by the Compiler in 1855; and it is, with the exception of a few necessary corrections and Hymns 411 & 412 & 413, an exact re-print of that Work. This edition has the peculiar feature of the suggestion of the names of suitable Tunes to each Psalm and Hymn, together with an Index of reference to the Tune Books where they may be found, by the REV. C. H. DAVIS. * The former Editions of this Selection were dedicated to the late Bishop of Gloucester and Bristol, Dr. Monk; but as it is used extensively in other Dioceses it has been deemed advisable to omit that dedication in this Edition.
