happiness, and unceasingly bring to Thee acceptable fruits of my life. In these days of the ingathering of the vintage, let me rejoice in Him, Who alone truly treads the wine press, the beloved Redeemer, Jesus Christ. With the fading and falling leaf, cause me to remember my mortality, and to prepare while it is yet time for a blessed end; to leave this inconstant, passing world with joy, whenever it so pleases Thee; and, to enter Thy glory, there, with angels and all the company of the elect, to evermore laud, praise and thank Thee for all Thy benefits. Amen.

Prayer at the Beginning of the
Winter Time.

HEARTILY thank Thee, O Lord, Ruler of heaven and earth, that Thou hast caused me to enjoy Thy goodness with which Thou crownedst the year even to this moment. And, since it hath pleased Thee, in divine wisdom, that seedtime and harvest, heat and cold, summer and winter, day and night cease no more, so long as the earth shall remain, I most heartily beseech Thee, grant us to be sustained through these cold, dreary and bleak winter days, and bless us with Thy fatherly peace, that our flight from the enemy be not in the winter, nor that we be disturbed by fire or water or other adversity, nor perish in the cold and snow. Be merciful unto all who are

need, the naked, and them that distressed; and, so keep my rt, that in these days when kedness stalketh forth triumphand love so easily grows cold, I y earnestly withold myself from the works of darkness, and not y my soul the offices of mercy; at all times willingly aid and e, even as Thou hast prospered abundantly.

Lord, Lord, when at last mine s grow dim, and all natural mth departs from my body, help to see the sun of righteousness the night of death; to be clothed the garments of salvation and the ntel of the righteousness of Jesus ist, my Lord and Savior; cleansed His blood from all sin, that I be nd white as snow; so to escape pains of hell and outer darkness;

and, when comes the glorious spring time of the last of days, to enjoy Thine eternal kingdom of peace; forever to laud, praise and magnify Thee in that kingdom, O beloved God, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

INTERCESSORY PRAYERS.

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.

For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (I Tim. 2: 1-4).
