ON THE PASSION OF OUR LORD.

To be said during Holy Week, Wednesday and Good Friday, after the Psalms and Lessons appointed by the Kalendar.

INVOCATION.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

All kneeling.

UR Lord Jesus Christ humbled himself, and

became obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross. Wherefore God hath highly exalted him and given a Name, which is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Lord, have mercy upon us.

Christ, have mercy upon us.

Lord, have mercy upon us.
O God, the Father of Heaven,

Have mercy upon us.

O God, the Son, Redeemer of the World,
Have mercy upon us.

O God, the Holy Ghost,
Have mercy upon us.
Holy Trinity, One God,

Have mercy upon us.

Holy Jesu, True God and Man,
Have mercy upon us.

Jesus, sold by Judas, and betrayed with a kiss, Have mercy upon us.

Jesus, condemned by Pilate to a shameful death,

Have mercy upon us.

Jesus, crucified for us,

Have mercy upon us.

Jesus, rising gloriously on the third day,
Have mercy upon us.

Jesus, ascending triumphantly to Heaven,

Have mercy upon us.

Jesus, ever living to make intercession for us,

Have mercy upon us.

From all sin,

Lord Jesus deliver us.

By thy holy Incarnation, by thy humble Birth,

by thy Circumcision,

Lord Jesus deliver us.

D

By thy holy fasting, toils and watching,
Lord Jesus deliver us.

By thy precious blood shed to redeem us,
Lord Jesus deliver us.

By thy blessed Sacraments, thou ordainedst as
means to unite us to thyself,
Lord Jesus deliver us.

In our daily trials, in the hour of death,
Lord Jesus deliver us.

That thou wouldest bring us to true repentance.
We sinners, beseech thee to hear us.

That we may bear all crosses with love and patience,

We sinners, beseech thee to hear us.

Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the

world,

Have mercy upon us.

UR Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be

thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil : For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

THE COLLECT FOR THE DAY.

LORD JESUS CHRIST, Son of the living

God, the only hope and refuge of sinners, we beseech thee set thy Holy Cross and Passion between thy Judgment and our souls, now, and in the hour of death. O, let not thy Precious Blood be shed for us in vain, but grant us, by thy grace, that cleansed from all our sins after our death, we may joyfully enter Paradise to love and adore thee eternally: where with the Father and the Holy Ghost, thou livest and reignest, One God, world without end. Amen.

THE

HE grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the fellowship of the holy Ghost, be with us all evermore. Amen.

Easter Day and during Eastertide.

To be said after the Psalms and Lessons appointed by the Kalendar, all standing.

HRIST our passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the feast;

Not with the old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.-1 COR. v. 7.

Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more death hath no more dominion over Him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin: but alive unto God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.-ROM. vi. 9.

Christ is risen from the dead: and become the first-fruits of them that slept.

For since by man came death: by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

For as in Adam all die; even so in Christ shall all be made alive.-1 Cor. xv. 20.
