He raised on high His hands divine,
He blessed His faithful train;
O when shall Adam's guilty line
Such blessings hear again?

Then slowly toward the expecting sky,
That sky's Creator rose;
Angelic watchers, ranged on high,
Bade heaven's bright gates unclose.

He entered in the Lord of might,
ternal and supreme;

His presence e'en those realms of light
Illumed with brighter beam.

O Thou, Who thus exalted art,
On whom our souls rely,
Grant to us now in mind and heart
To dwell with Thee on high!

And when at last the Archangel's voice
Shall call us from the grave,
May we with all Thy saints rejoice,

Through Him who died to save. Amen.

O CHRIST, our hope, our hearts' desire,
Redemption's only spring;

Creator of the world art Thou,
Its Saviour and its King.

How vast the mercy and the love
Which laid our sins on Thee,
And led Thee to a cruel death
To set Thy people free !

But now the bonds of death are burst,
The ransom hath been paid;
And Thou art on Thy Father's throne,
In glorious might arrayed.

O may Thy wondrous love prevail
Our sinful souls to spare!

O may we come before Thy throne,
And find acceptance there !

O Christ, be Thou our present joy,
Our future great reward!

Our only glory may it be

To glory in the Lord! Amen.

THOU art gone up before us, Lord,
Thou hast prepared a place,

That we may be where now Thou art,
And see Thee face to face.

And ever on our earthly path
A gleam of glory lies;

A light still breaks behind the cloud
That veils Thee from our eyes.

Lift

up our hearts, lift up our minds,
And let Thy grace be given,
That, while we linger yet below,
Our treasure be in heaven.

That, where Thou art at God's right hand,
Our hope, our love, may be:
Dwell in us now, that we may dwell
For evermore in Thee. Amen.

WHERE high the heav'nly temple stands,
The house of God not made with hands,
A great High Priest our nature wears,
The guardian of His saints appears.

He who for men their surety stood,
And poured on earth His precious blood,
Pursues in heaven His gracious plan,
The Saviour and the Friend of man.

Though now ascended up on high,
He bends on earth a brother's eye;
Partaker of the human name,
He knows the frailty of our frame.

In every pang that rends the heart
The Man of Sorrows had a part;
He sympathizes with our grief,
And to the sufferer sends relief.

With boldness therefore at His throne
Let us make all our sorrows known,
And ask the aid of heavenly power
To help us in the evil hour. Amen.

WITH joy we meditate the grace
Of our High Priest above;
His heart is made of tenderness,
And overflows with love.

Touch'd with a sympathy within
He knows our feeble frame;
He knows what sore temptations mean,
For He has felt the same.

He in the days of feeble flesh

Pour'd out His cries and tears,

And still in glory feels afresh
What ev'ry member bears.

Then let our humble faith address
His mercy and His power;
We shall obtain deliv'ring grace
In the distressing hour.

Praise be to Father, praise to Son,
Blest Spirit, praise to Thee;
Glory to God, the Three in One,
To God, the One in Three.

Amen.

O LORD, most High, Eternal King,
By Thee redeemed Thy praise we sing;
The bonds of death are burst by Thee,
And grace has won the victory.

Ascending to the Father's throne
Thou claim'st the kingdom as Thine own;
Thy days of mortal weakness o'er,
All power is Thine for evermore.

To Thee the whole creation now
Shall in its threefold order bow;

Of things on earth, and things on high,
And things that underneath us lie.

In awe and wonder angels see
How changed is man's estate by Thee;
How flesh makes pure, as flesh did stain,
And Thou, true God, in flesh dost reign.

Be Thou our joy, O Mighty Lord,
As Thou wilt be our great reward;
Let all our glory be in Thee,
Both now and through eternity.

All praise from every heart and tongue
To Thee, ascended Lord, be sung;
All praise to God the Father be,
And Holy Ghost eternally. Amen.
