Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears for ever flow,

All for sin could not atone:
Thou must save, and Thou alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring;
Simply to Thy Cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly-
Wash me, Saviour, or I die!

While I draw this fleeting breath, When my eyes shall close in death, When I soar through tracts unknown, See Thee on Thy judgment throne: Rock of Ages! cleft for me,

Let me hide myself in Thee. Amen.

THERE is a fountain fill'd with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel's veins;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day;
And there have I, as vile as he,
Wash'd all my sins away.

Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its
power,

Till all the ransom'd Church of God
Be saved to sin no more.

Lord, I believe Thou hast prepared,
Unworthy though I be,

For me a blood-bought, free reward,
A golden harp for me:

'Tis strung, and tuned for endless
And form'd by power divine,
To sound in God the Father's ears
No other name but Thine.

years,

My God, the spring of all my joys,
The life of my delights,

The glory of my brightest days,
And comfort of my nights.

In darkest shades if He appear,
My dawning is begun;

He is my soul's sweet Morning Star,
And He my rising Sun.

The opening heavens around me shine
With beams of sacred bliss ;
While Jesus shows His heart is mine,
And whispers, I am His.

My soul would leave this heavy clay,
At that transporting word;
Run up with joy the shining way,
To meet my
dearest Lord.

Fearless of hell and ghastly death
I'd break through every foe,
The wings of love and arms of faith
Should bear me conqueror through.

Amen.

SWEET the moments, rich in blessing,
Which before the Cross I spend,
Life, and health, and peace possessing
From the sinner's dying Friend.
Here I rest for ever viewing

Mercy's streams in streams of blood;
Precious drops, my soul bedewing,
Plead and claim my peace with God.

Love and grief my heart dividing,
With my tears His feet I'll bathe;
Constant still in faith abiding,
Life deriving from His death.
May I still enjoy this feeling,

In all need to Jesus go;

Prove His wounds each day more healing, And Himself more deeply know.

For Thy sorrows we adore Thee,
For the pains that wrought our peace ;
Gracious Saviour, we implore Thee
In our hearts Thy love increase.
Lord, in ceaseless contemplation
Fix our hearts and eyes on Thee,
Till we taste Thy whole Salvation,
And unveil❜d Thy glory see. Amen.

LORD, Thy word abideth,
And our footsteps guideth:
Who its truth believeth
Light and joy receiveth.

When our foes are near us
Then Thy word doth cheer us,
Word of consolation,

Message of salvation.

When the storms are o'er us,
And dark clouds before us;
Then its light directeth,
And our way protecteth.

Who can tell the pleasure,
Who recount the treasure,
By Thy word imparted
To the simple-hearted?

Word of mercy, giving
Succour to the living;
Word of life supplying
Comfort to the dying.

O that we, discerning
Its most holy learning,

Lord, may love and fear Thee,
Evermore be near Thee. Amen.

We love the place, O God,

Wherein Thine honour dwells;

The joy of Thine abode

All earthly joy excels.

It is the house of prayer,
Wherein Thy servants meet;
And Thou, O Lord, art there
Thy chosen flock to greet.

We love the Word of Life,
The Word that tells of peace;
Of comfort in the strife,
And joys that never cease.

We love Thy table, Lord;
O what on earth so dear?
For there, in faith adored,
We find Thy presence near.
