We taste Thee, O Thou living bread, Our restless spirits yearn for Thee, O Jesu, ever with us stay! Make all our moments calm and bright! Chase the dark night of sin away, Shed o'er the world Thy holy light! Amen. 301. S. M. BLEST feast of love divine! That blood which flowed for sin, And feel the blessed pledge within O! if this glimpse of love To see Thee face to face, And all Thy ways of wondrous grace, 302. Amen. 8-6, 8-6, 8-8. LORD, when before Thy Throne we meet, Thy goodness to adore; From heaven, th'eternal mercy-seat, On us Thy blessing pour; The body for our ransom given; And let our adoration rise, As fragrant incense, to the skies. Amen. ACCORDING to Thy gracious word, This will I do, my dying Lord, Thy body, broken for my sake, Can I Gethsemane forget, When to the cross I turn mine eyes, Remember Thee, and all Thy pains, And all Thy love to me! Yea, while a breath, a pulse remains, And when these failing lips grow dumb, And thought and memory flee; When Thou shalt in Thy kingdom come, Jesu! remember me. Amen. K LORD, pour Thy Spirit from on high, And clothe Thy priests with righteousness. Within Thy temple when they stand Wisdom, and zeal, and love impart, Firmness and meekness from above, To bear Thy people in their heart, And love the souls whom Thou dost love. To watch and pray, and never faint, So, when their work is finished here, Amen. Bow down Thine ear, Almighty Lord, In mercy, Father! now give heed, And pour Thy Spirit's quickening breath On those whom Thou hast called to feed Thy flock, redeemed by Jesu's death. O Saviour! from Thy pierced hand Blest Spirit! in their hearts abide, And give them grace to watch and pray, That as they seek Thy flock to guide, Themselves may keep the narrow way. O God! Thy saving mercy send, To shield them in their strife with sin; Grant them enduring to the end, The crown of life at last to win. Amen. |
