Enough if Thou at last
The word of blessing give,
And let us rest beneath Thy feet,
Where saints and angels live.

All glory, Lord, to Thee, Whom heaven and earth adore, To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, One God for evermore.

Amen.

[blocks in formation]

O JESU LORD, the Way, the Truth,
The Life, the Crown of all

Who here on earth confess Thy Name,
O hear us when we call.

We bring to mind with grateful joy
Thy servants, who of old
Withstood the snares of earth and hell,
And now Thy face behold;

Who sought on earth the joys of prayer,
And that communion knew,

Which saints and angels share above
With those who seek it too.

Vouchsafe us, Lord, we pray Thee now, To us it may be given,

Like them to live and die in Thee,
And with Thee rise to heaven.

All glory to Thy Holy Name,
One God in Trinity;

To-day and yesterday the same,
And everlastingly. Amen.

6-6-6-6, 4-4-4-4.

Lo! from the desert homes
Where he hath hid so long,
The new Elias comes,

In sternest wisdom strong;
The voice that cries
Of Christ from high,
And judgment nigh
From opening skies.

Your God e'en now doth stand
At heaven's opening door,
His fan is in His hand,

And He will purge His floor;

The wheat He claims
And with Him stows,
The chaff He throws
To quenchless flames.

Ye haughty mountains, bow
Your sky-aspiring heads;

Ye valleys, hiding low,

Lift

up your gentle meads;
Make His way plain
Your King before,

For evermore
He comes to reign.

May thy dread voice around,
Thou harbinger of Light,
On our dull ears still sound,
Lest here we sleep in night,
Till judgment come,
And on our path

Shall burst the wrath,
And deathless doom.

O God, with love's sweet might,
Who dost anoint and arm
Thy soldiers for the fight

With grace that shields from harm,
Thrice blessed Three,

Heaven's endless days

Shall sing Thy praise

Eternally. Amen.

[blocks in formation]

How blest are they whose hearts are pure,

From guile their spirits free;

To them shall God Himself reveal,
His glory they shall see.

Their simple souls upon His Word,
In fullest light of love,

Place all their trust, and ask no more
Than guidance from above.

They who in faith, unmixed with doubt,
The engrafted Word receive:
Whom the first sign of heavenly power
Persuades, and they believe.

They as they walk this painful world,
See hidden glories rise;

Our God the sunshine of His love
Unfolds before their

eyes.

For them far greater things than these
Does Christ the Lord prepare,
Whose bliss no heart of man can reach,
No human voice declare.

To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
The God whom we adcre,

Be glory, as it was, is now,

And shall be evermore.

314.

Amen.

ALIKE in happiness or woe,

Lord, we will follow Thee;

And tread the path Thyself didst go,
Whate'er that path may be.

With earnest zeal 'twas Thy delight To do Thy Father's will: O may such zeal our souls excite, His precepts to fulfil.

If in some dark affliction's day
Our path through sorrow run,
May we, like Thee, have grace to say,
"Thy Will, O Lord, be done!"

In Thee a sacred burning love
In all Thy course did shine;
O may such love within us prove
That we, O Lord, are Thine.

Supported by Almighty grace, We'll tread Thy heavenly road; And carefully Thy footsteps trace, Which lead to Thine abode.

All glory to the Father be,
All glory to the Son,

All glory, Holy Ghost, to Thee,

While endless ages run.

315.

DISPOSER Supreme,

Amen.

P. M.

And Judge of the earth,
Who choosest for Thine
The weak and the poor;
