Lord! give Thine angels every day
Command to guard us on our way;
And bid them every evening keep
Their watch around us while we sleep.

So shall no wicked thing draw near
To do us harm, or cause us fear;
And we shall dwell, when life is past,
With angels round Thy throne at last.

Chbist is made the sure Foundation,
Christ the Head and Corner stone,

Chosen of the Lord, and precious,
Binding all the church in one,

Holy Sion's help for ever,
And her confidence alone.

All that dedicated city,

Dearly loved of God on high,

In exultant jubilation
Pours perpetual melody;

God the One in Three adoring
In glad hymns eternally.

To this temple, where we call Thee, Come, O Lord of hosts, to-day:

With Thy wonted loving-kindness,
Hear Thy servants, as they pray;

And Thy fullest benediction
Shed within its walls alway.

Here vouchsafe to all Thy servants
What they ask of Thee to gain,

What they gain from Thee for ever
With the blessed to retain,

And hereafter in Thy glory
Evermore with Thee to reign.

Praise and honour to the Father,
Praise and honour to the Son,

Praise and honour to the Spirit,
Ever Three, and ever One,

One in might, and One in glory,
While eternal ages run. Amen.

Gbeat Shepherd of Thy people, here

Thy presence now display; As Thou hast given a place for prayer,

So give us hearts to pray.

Within these walls let holy peace,
And love and concord dwell;

Here give the troubled conscience ease,
The wounded spirit heal.

May we in faith receive Thy word,
In faith present our prayers;

And in the presence of our Lord
Unbosom all our cares.

The hearing ear, the seeing eye,

The contrite heart bestow; And shine upon us from on high,

That we in grace may grow. Amen.

God of our life to Thee we call,
Afflicted at Thy feet we fall;
When the great waterfloods prevail,
Leave not our trembling hearts to fail.

Friend of the friendless and the faint,
Where shall we pour our sad complaint?
"Where but to Thee, whose open door
Invites the helpless and the poor?

Did ever sinner plead with Thee,
And Thou reject his lowly plea?
Does not Thy word still pledged remain,
That none shall seek Thy name in vain?
Then hear, O Lord, our humble cry,
And bend on us Thy pitying eye;
To Thee their prayer Thy people make,
Hear us for our ^Redeemer's sake. Amen.

When in the hour of utmost need
We know not where to look for aid,
When days and nights of anxious thought
Nor help nor counsel yet have brought.

Then this our comfort is alone
That we may meet before Thy throne,
And cry, O faithful God, to Thee
For rescue from our misery.

To Thee may raise our hearts and eyes,
Bepenting sore, with bitter sighs,
And seek Thy pardon for our sin,
And respite from our griefs within.

For Thou hast promised graciously
To hear all those who cry to Thee,
Through Him Whose Name alone is great,
Our Saviour and our Advocate.

And thus we come, O God, to-day,
And all our woes before Thee lay,
For tried, afflicted, lo! we stand,
Perils and foes on every hand.

Ah, hide not, for our sins, Thy face,
Absolve us through Thy boundless grace,
Be with us in our anguish still,
Free us at last from every ill.

That so with all our hearts may we
Once more with joy give thanks to Thee,
And walk obedient to Thy word,
And now and ever praise the Lord. Amen.

O God of Love! O King of Peace!
Make wars throughout the world to cease;
The wrath of sinful man restrain,
Give peace, 0 God! give peace again!

Remember, Lord, Thy works of old,
The wonders that our fathers told;
Remember not our sin's dark stain,
Give peace, O God! give peace again!

Whom shall we trust but Thee, O Lord P
Where rest but on Thy faithful word?
None ever called on Thee in vain;
Give peace, O God! give peace again!

Where saints and angels dwell above
All hearts are knit in holy love;
O! bind us in that heavenly chain:
Give peace, 0 God! give peace again!
