Of Thy most precious blood My soul I cast :
Wash me and make me clean within, And keep me pure from every Till life be past.
Behold the Lamb of God! All hail, Incarnate Word, Thou everlasting Lord,
Saviour most blest!
Fill us with love that never faints, Grant us with all Thy blessed saints Eternal rest.
Behold the Lamb of God!
Worthy is He alone
That sitteth on the throne
Of God above;
One with the Ancient of all days, One with the Comforter in praise, All light and love! Amen
O SACRED Head, surrounded By crown of piercing thorn! O bleeding Head, so wounded, Reviled, and put to scorn! Death's pallid hue comes o'er Thee, The glow of life decays,
Yet angel hosts adore Thee, And tremble as they gaze.
I see Thy strength and vigour All fading in the strife, And death with cruel rigour Bereaving Thee of life; O agony and dying!
O love to sinners free! Jesu, all grace supplying, O turn Thy Face on me!
In this Thy bitter passion, Good Shepherd, think of me With Thy most sweet compassion, Unworthy though I be: Beneath Thy Cross abiding For ever would I rest, In Thy dear love confiding,
And with Thy presence blest. Amen.
Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia! Unto Christ our heavenly King, Alleluia! Who endured the cross and Sinners to redeem and save.
But the pain which He endured Our salvation has procured:
Now above the sky He's king,
Where the angels ever sing.
Sing we to our God above,
Praise eternal as His love;
Praise Him, all ye heavenly host, Alleluia!
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
ALLELUIA! Alleluia!
Hearts to heaven and voices raise; Sing to God a hymn of gladness, Sing to God a hymn of praise. He who on the Cross a victim For the world's salvation bled, Jesus Christ, the King of glory, Now is risen from the dead.
Now the iron bars are broken,
Christ from death to life is born, Glorious life, and life immortal, On this holy Easter morn;
Christ has triumphed, and we conquer By His mighty enterprise; We with Christ to life eternal By His Resurrection rise.
Christ is risen, Christ the first-fruits Of the holy harvest-field, Which with all its full abundance At His Second Coming yield; Then the golden ears of harvest Will their heads before Him wave, Ripened by His glorious sunshine From the furrows of the grave.
Christ is risen, we are risen: Shed upon us heavenly grace, Rain and dew, and gleams of glory, From the brightness of Thy face; That we, O Lord, with hearts in heaven Here on earth may fruitful be, And by angel-hands be gathered, And be ever safe with Thee.
Alleluia! Alleluia !
Glory be to God on high, To the Father and the Saviour, Who has gained the victory; Glory to the Holy Spirit,
Fount of Love and Sanctity,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
To the Triune Majesty! Amen.
CHRIST the Lord is risen to-day, Sons of men and angels say; Raise your joys and triumphs high, Sing ye heavens, and earth reply.
Love's redeeming work is done, Fought the fight, the battle won: Lo! our Sun's eclipse is o'er; Lo! He sets in blood no more.
Vain the stone, the watch, the seal, Christ hath burst the gates of hell; Death in vain forbids His rise, Christ hath opened Paradise.
Lives again our glorious King: Where, O death, is now thy sting? Once He died our souls to save: Where thy victory, O grave!
Soar we now where Christ has led, Following our exalted Head;
Made like Him, like Him we rise,
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies. Amen.
Lo! the glad morn is come,
The Lord is risen indeed;
