The different Characters and End of the Righteous and the Wicked. 1 HOW blest is he, who ne'er consents, By ill advice to walk; Nor stands in sinners' ways, nor sits, 2 But makes the perfect law of God 3 Like some fair tree, which, fed by streams, With timely fruit doth bend; He still shall flourish, and success 4 Ungodly men and their attempts Untimely blasted, and dispers'd 5 Their guilt shall strike the wicked dumb, Among the saints have place. 6 For God approves the just man's ways, But sinners and the paths they tread, PSALM I. The Way and End of the Righteous and the Wicked. 1 BLESS'Dis the man who shuns the place Where sinners love to meet; Who fears to tread their wicked ways, 2 But in the statutes of the Lord By day he reads or hears the word, 3 Green as the leaf, and ever fair, 4 Not so the impious and unjust; 5 Sinners in judgment shall not stand When Christ, the Judge, at his right hand PSALM II.
