Mourning souls, dry up your tears,
Banish all your guilty fears;
See your guilt and curse remove,
Cancell'd by redeeming love.

Hither all your music bring,
Strike aloud each joyful string ;
Mortals, join the hosts above,
Shouting loud redeeming love.

HYMN LII. P. M.
Redemption finished.

1 HARK! the voice of love and mercy, Sounds aloud from Calvary!

See, it rends the rocks asunder, Shakes the earth, and veils the sky! "It is finish'd!"

Hear the dying Saviour cry.

2 "It is finish'd!"-O what pleasure Do the wondrous words afford! Heav'nly blessings, without measure, Flow to us from Christ the Lord! "It is finish'd!"

Saints the dying words record.

3 Finish'd, all the types and shadows
Of the ceremonial law :

Finish'd, all that God had promis'd:
Death and hell no more shall awe.

"It is finish'd!"

Saints from hence their comforts draw.

4 Tune your harps anew, ye seraphs,
Join to sing the pleasing theme:
All on earth, and all in heav'n,
Join to praise Immanuel's name.
Hallelujah!

Glory to the bleeding Lamb!

The Refuge from the Storm.

1 JESUS, Refuge of my soul,
Let me to thy bosom fly,
While the swelling waters roll;
While the tempest still is high:
Hide me, O my Saviour, hide,
Till the storm of life is past;
Safe into the haven guide-
O receive my soul at last!

2 Other refuge I have none;

Hangs my helpless soul on thee :
Leave, ah! leave me not alone;
Still support and comfort me.
All my trust on thee is stay'd;
All my help from thee I bring;
Cover my defenceless head

With the shadow of thy wing.

3 Thou, O Christ, art all I want;
More than all in thee I find :
Raise the fallen, cheer the faint,
Heal the sick, and lead the blind.
Just and holy is thy name:

I am all unrighteousness;
Vile, and full of sin I am :

Thou art full of truth and grace.

4 Plenteous grace with thee is found;
Grace to pardon all my sin:
Let the healing streams abound;
Make and keep me pure within.
Thou of life the Fountain art:
Freely let me take of thee:
Spring thou up within my heart;
Rise to all eternity.

HYMN LIV. C. M.

Salvation.

1 SALVATION! O the joyful sound!
What pleasure to our ears!

A sov'reign balm for ev'ry wound;
A cordial for our fears.

Glory, honour, praise, and power,
Be unto the Lamb for ever!
Jesus Christ is our Redeemer !
Hallelujah! praise the Lord!

2 Bary'd in sorrow and in sin,
At hell's dark door we lay;
But we arise by grace divine,
To see a heav'nly day.

3 Salvation! let the echo fly,

The spacious earth around;
While all the armies of the sky

Glory, &c.

Conspire to raise the sound. Glory, &c.

I JESUS, the spring of joys divine,
From whence all hopes and comforts flow;
Jesus, no other name but thine

Can save us from eternal woe.

2 No other name will heav'n approve: Thou art the true, the living Way, Ordain'd by everlasting love,

To the bright realms of endless day.

3 Here let our constant feet abide ;

Nor from the heav'nly path depart: O let thy Spirit, gracious Guide,

Direct our steps, and cheer our heart!

4 Safe lead us through this world of night, And bring us to the blissful plains

The regions of unclouded light,
Where perfect joy for ever reigns.

Faith in Christ our Sacrifice.

1 NOT all the blood of beasts,
On Jewish altars slain,

Could give the guilty conscience peace,
Nor wash away the stain.

2 But Christ, the heav'nly Lamb,
Takes all our sins away;

A sacrifice of nobler name,

And richer blood than they.

3 My faith would lay her hand
On that dear head of thine,
While like a penitent I stand,
And there confess my sin.

4 My soul looks back to see
The burdens thou didst bear,

When hanging on the cursed tree,
And hopes her guilt was there.

5 Believing, we rejoice.

To see the curse remove : We bless the Lamb with cheerful voice, And sing his bleeding love.
