Salam had a boss, attend our pray`r, mase the British isles thy care: se der suppliant cries,

SPOT ADOTS FOend us rise.

gkor med der read our glory down,
r de best defle our crown,

big ar buss with our blood,
der me temples of our God,

But 'midst the thunder of their rage,
We thy protection would engage:
O raise thy saving arm on high,
And bring renew'd deliv'rance nigh,

Safe may our happy land remain,
Bless'd with a Saviour's happy reign;
"Till ev'ry hostile tumult cease,
In the fair realms of perfect peace.

HYMN CXXXII.

C. M.

Desiring God's Presence in his House.

1 DEAR Shepherd of thy people, here Thy presence now display;

As thou hast giv'n a place for pray'r,
So give us hearts to pray.

2 Within these walls let holy peace,
And love, and concord dwell;
Here give the troubled conscience ease,
The wounded spirit heal.

3 Shew us some token of thy love,
Our fainting hope to raise ;
And pour thy blessings from above,
That we may render praise.

4 And may the gospel's joyful sound,
Enforc'd by mighty grace,

Awaken many sinners round,
To come and fill the place.

HYMN CXXXIII.

Before Sermon.

C. M.

1 ONCE more we come before our God, Once more his blessing ask;

O may not duty seem a load,
Nor worship prove a task!

2 Father, thy quick'ning Spirit send
From heav'n, in Jesu's name;
To make our waiting minds attend,
And put our souls in frame.

3 May we receive the word we hear,
Each in an honest heart;

Hoard up the precious treasure there,
And never with it part.

4 To seek thee all our hearts dispose!
To each thy blessing suit ;

And let the seed thy servant sows,
Produce a plenteous fruit.

5 Revive the parch'd, with heav'nly show'rs, The cold, with warmth divine;

And as the benefit is ours,
Be all the glory thine.

HYMN CXXXIV.

L. M.

Before Sermon, or at the Opening of Worship.

CONFIRM the hope thy word allows;
Behold us waiting to be fed;
Bless the provisions of thy house,
And "satisfy the poor with bread."

Drawn by thine invitation, Lord,
Athirst and hungry we are come;
Now from the fulness of thy word,
Feast us, and send us thankful home.

HYMN CXXXV.

Before Sermon.

C. M.

1 GREAT God, thy sov'reign pow'r impart, To give thy word success;

Write thy salvation on each heart,
And make us learn thy grace.

2 Shew our forgetful feet the way,
That leads to joys on high;

Where knowledge dwells without decay,
And pleasures never die.
