HYMN LXXIX.

Difmiffion.

ORD, dismiss us with thy bleffing:
Fill our hearts with joy and peace,
Let us all, thy love poffeffing,
Triumph in Redeeming Grace,
O refresh us,

In this dry and barren place.

2 Thanks we give and adoration,
For thy gofpel's joyful found;
May the fruits of thy falvation,
In our hearts and lives abound,
Ever faithful

To the truth may we be found.

3 So whene'er the fignal's given,
Us from earth to call away,
Borne on angel's wings to heaven,
Glad the fummons to obey;
May we ever

Reign with Chrift in endless day.

Ancient of everlasting days,
And God of love.

Jehovah, great I AM!

By earth and heav'n confeft;
I bow and bless the facred name,
For ever blefs'd.

The God of Abraham praise,
At whofe fupreme command,
From earth I rife-and feek the joys
At his right-hand:

I all on earth forfake,

Its wisdom, fame and power; And him my only portion make, My fhield and tower.

The God of Abraham praife,
Whofe all-fufficient grace
Shall guide me all my happy days
In all my ways:

He calls a worm his friend!
He calls himself my God!
And he shall fave me to the end,
Through Jefu's blood.

He by himself hath fworn,
I on his oath depend,

I fhall, on eagle's wings upborne,
To heaven afcend:

I fhall behold his face,
I fhall his power adore,

And fing the wonders of his grace
For evermore.

HOUGH nature's ftrength decay,
And earth and hell withstand,

To Canaan's bounds I urge my way,

At his command:

The watery deep I pass,
With Jefus in my view;
And through the howling wilderness,
My way pursue.

2 The goodly land I fee,
With peace and plenty bless'd;
A land of facred liberty,

And endless reft;

There milk and honey flow,
And wine and oil abound,
And trees of life for ever grow,
With mercy crown'd.

There dwells the Lord our King,
The Lord our Righteousness;
Triumphant o'er the world and fin,
The Prince of peace:

On Zion's facred height,
His kingdom ftill maintains;
And glorious with his faints in light,
For ever reigns.

He keeps his own fecure,

He guards them by his fide,

Arrays in garments white and pure
His fpotlefs bride:

With all the fruits of paradife,

Known through the earth by thousand figns,
By thousands through the skies.

2 Those mighty orbs proclaim thy power;
Their motions fpeak thy skill:
And on the wings of every hour,
We read thy patience ftill..

3 Part of thy name divinely stands,
On all thy creatures writ,

They fhew the labour of thy hands,.
Or imprefs of thy feet.

To fave rebellious worms;

Where vengeance and compaffion join
In their divineft forms:
