And love His holy Word. 40. Sabbath Morning Thoughts. 8.7. 1 WELCOME, welcome, quiet morning!
Welcome, is this Holy day! Now the Sabbath morn returning,
Says a week has passed away,
Let me think how time is passing.;
Soon the longest life departs ; Nothing human is abiding,
Save the love of human hearts. 2 Father! now one prayer I raise Thee;
Give an humble, grateful heart;
Never from Thy fear depart.
And the world is sunk in shade,
Sabbath Morning. C.M. 1 TORD, in the morning Thou shalt hear,
My voice ascending high;
To Thee lift up my eye.
To plead for all His saints,
Our songs and our complaints.
The wicked shall not stand ;
Nor dwell at Thy right hand. 4 But to Thy house will I resort,
To taste Thy mercies there;
I will frequent Thy holy court,
And worship in Thy fear.
In ways of righteousness ;
True Worship. L.M. 1 WHEN to the house of God we go,
W To hear His word, and sing His love; We ought to worship Him below,
As saints and angels do above.
And praise Him better far than we;
And love Him whom we cannot see. 3 But God is present every where,
And watches all our thoughts and ways;
And who sincerely sing His praise.
But do not seek Him with the heart. 5 O may we never trifle so,
Nor lose the days our God has given;
