2 Eternal are thy mercies, Lord !

Eternal truth attends thy word :
Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore,

Till suns shall rise and set no more.
3 Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav'nly host;

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Public worship.
I Joy fills the dwelling of the just,

Whom God has sav'd from harm;
For wondrous things are brought to pass

By his Almighty arm.
2 Then open wide the temple gates,

To which the just repair,
That I may enter in, and praise

My great Deliv’rer there.
3 [Within those gates of God's abode,

To which the righteous press;
Since Thou hast heard, and set me safe,

Thy holy Name I'll bless.]
4 That, which the builders once refus'd,

Is now the corner-stone:
This is the wondrous work of God,

The work of God alone.

5 This day is God's ; let all the land

Exalt their cheerful voice:
Lord, we beseech Thee, save us now,

And make us still rejoice.
6 O then with me give thanks to God,

Who still does gracious prove;
And let the tribute of our praise

Be endless as his love.

C. M. Sabbath. 1 This is the day the Lord hath made;

He calls the hours his own;
Let heav'n rejoice, let earth be glad,

And praise surround the throne. 2 To-day He rose and left the dead,

And Satan's empire fell ;
To-day the saints his triumphs spread,

And all his wonders tell.
3 Hosanna to th' anointed King,

To David's holy Son !
Help us, O Lord, descend and bring

Salvation from thy throne.
4 Blest be the Lord, who comes to men

With messages of grace';
Who comes, in God his Father's name,

To save our sinful, race.

5 Hosanna in the highest strains

The church on earth can raise !
The highest heavens, in which He reigns,

Shall give Him nobler praise.

1 How shall the young secure their hearts,

And guard their lives from sin ?
Thy word, O Lord! the way imparts

To keep the conscience clean. 2 When once it entereth the mind,

It spreads such light abroad,
The meanest souls instruction find,

And raise their thoughts to God. 3 'Tis like the sun, a heavenly light,

To guide us all the day;
And, through the dangers of the night,

A lamp to lead the way.
4 Thy word is everlasting truth;

How pure is ev'ry page!
Oh! may it guard our earliest youth,

And cheer our latest age!

C.M. Prayer for grace to keep God's law. 1 OH! THAT the Lord would guide my ways

To keep his statutes still !
Oh ! that my God would grant me grace

To know and do his will !
2 O send my Spirit down, to write

Thy law upon my heart !
Nor let my tongue indulge deceit,

Nor act the liar's part !
3 From vanity turn off mine eyes :

Let no corrupt design,
Nor covetous desires, arise

Within this soul of mine!
4 Order my footsteps by thy word,

And make my heart sincere !
Let sin have no dominion, Lord,

But keep my conscience clear! 5[My soul hath gone too far astray,

My feet too often slip;
Yet, since I've not forgot thy way,

Restore thy wand'ring sheep !)
6 Make me to walk in thy commands !

'Tis a delightful road;
Nor let my head, or heart, or hands,

Offend against my God!

0. M.
The Lord our keeper.
1 To Zion's hill I lift mine eyes,

From thence expecting aid ;
From Zion's hill, and Zion's God,

Who heav'n and earth has made. 2 Then thou, my soul, in safety rest;

Thy Guardian will not sleep;
His watchful care, that Israel guards,

Will thee from danger keep.
3 Shelter'd beneath th' Almighty's wings,

Thou shalt securely rest,
Where neither sun nor moon shall thee

By day or night molest.
4 At home, abroad, in peace, in war,

Thy God shall thee defend ;
Conduct thee through life's pilgrimage

Safe to thy journey's end. 121

The Lord our keeper.
i To th' everlasting mountains

I lift my weary eyes ;
Oh! whence for me in trouble

Shall hope and help arise ?
