Heaven and earth must pass away :
Songs of praise shall crown that day;
God will make new heavens and earth:
Songs of praise shall hail their birth.
And shall man alone be dumb,

No:-the Church delights to raise
Psalms, and hymns, and songs of praise.
Songs of praise then we will sing,
Praise to our Almighty King;
Praise to God,-.the Father, Son,
Holy Ghost,—the three in one.

RAISE the Lord ! ye heavens adore him,

Praise him, Angels in the height; Sun and moon, rejoice before bim :

Praise him, all ye stars and light: Praise the Lord for he hath spoken,

Worlds bis mighty voice obey'd ! Laws, that never shall be broken,

For their guidance he bath made.
Praise the Lord ! for he his glorious :

Never shall his promise fail ;
God hath made his saints victorious,

Sin and death shall not prevail ;
Praise the God of our salvation,

Hosts on high his power proclaim; Heaven, and earth, and all creation,

In thy dear Son's atoning blood ; Hear those who come before thy throne, Pleading his merits, his alone. P. M. GREAT God; what do I see and hear!

The end of things created ! The judge of mankind doth appear,

On clouds of glory seated. The trumpet sounds! the graves restore The dead, which they contain'd before !

Prepare, my soul, to meet him,

The dead in Christ shall first arise,

At the last trumpet's sounding, Caught up to meet him in the skies,

With joy their Lord surrounding : No gloomy fears their souls dismay; His presence sheds eternal day

On those prepar'd to meet him.

But sinners, fill'd with guilty fears,

Behold his wrath prevailing; For they shall rise, and find their tears

And sighs are unavailing;
The day of grace is past and gone :
Trembling they stand before the throne,

All unprepared to meet him.
Great God ! what do I see and hear!
