The only correct account of the Danish Invasions of England during the Saxon Period is contained in these Danish Historians. “ All preceeding collections of Northern Antiquities were exceeded equally in splendour, utility, and extent, by the meritorious labours of Langebek, whose collection has now become a work of uncommon occurrence. The editor was doubtless the Bouquet of Denmark. It is said that the present venerable and learned Dr. Thorkelin, principal librarian of the Royal Library of Copenbagen, seldom pronounces the name of Langebek, without passing his hand before his eyes, or placing it on his heart. This is as it should be.”- Dibdin's Lib. Comp. 6341 LANGENMANTEL, Historie des Regiments der Stadt AUGSPURG, folio, many Coats of Arms, vellum, 78 6d
