WEDNESDAY MORNING.

SEEK ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he wil! abundantly pardon. Isaiah lv. 6, 7.

Take with you words, and turn unto the Lord ; say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously; so will we render the calves of our lips. Hosea xiv. 2.

The publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. Luke xviii. 13.

If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous, and he is the propitiation for our sins. 1 John ii. 1, 2.

PSALM XIII.

CONFESSION OF SIN, AND PRAYER FOR
PARDON.

1. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving-kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.

2. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

3. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

4. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

5. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

6. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

7. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean : wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

8. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

9. Hide thy face from my sins,. and blot out all mine iniquities.

10. Create in me a clean heart, O God: and renew a right spirit within me.

11. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

12. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. li. 1-12. Glory be, &c.

1. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

2. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God; when shall I come and appear before God?

3. Yet the Lord will command his loving-kindness in the day-time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

4. I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy. xlii. 1, 2, 8, 9,

5. But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

7. I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. cxliii. 6.

8. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none on earth that I desire beside thee. Ixxiii. 25.

9. O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.

10. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. xliii. 3, 5. Glory be, &c. As it was, &c.

4. Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
