ADVERTISEMENT. THIS Edition contains the whole of LONGFELLOW'S POETICAL WORKS hitherto published, with the exception of THE SPANISH STUDENT, THE GOLDEN LEGEND, and THE SONG OF HIAWATHA. As these Poems from their length would make this Volume too bulky, it is proposed to reserve them for future publication in a collected form, similar in size and style to the present Volume. Some slight modification has been made in the order of arrangement in this collection, with the view of keeping together Poems of a similar class, as far as is consistent with a due regard to the chronological order of their publication. |
