IV.

The men of grace have found
Glory begun below;

Celestial fruits, on earthly ground,
From faith and hope may grow.
v.

The hill of Zion yields

A thoufand facred sweets,
Before we reach the heav'nly fields,
Or walk the golden ftreets.
VI.

Then let our fongs abound,
And ev'ry tear be dry,

We're marching thro' Immanuel's ground
To fairer worlds on high.

HYMN XLI.
Refurrection of CHRIST.

I.

HRIST the LORD is ris'n to-day !
Sons of men and angels fay,

CH

Raife your joys and triumphs high,
Sing ye heav'ns, and earth reply.

II.

Love's redeeming work is done,
Fought the fight, the battle won
Lo! our fun's eclipse is o'er,
Lo! he fets in blood no more.

III.

Vain the ftone, the watch, the feal,
CHRIST hath burft the gates of hell :
Death in vain forbids his rife,
CHRIST hath open'd Paradife,
IV.

Lives again our glorious King,
Where, O death is now thy fting!
Once he died our fouls to fave,

Where thy victory, O grave!

ง.

Soar we now where CHRIST has led,
Foll'wing our exalted head,

Made like him, like him we rife,

Our's the cross, the grave, the skies.
VI.

Hail the LORD of earth and heav'n!
Praise to thee by both be giv'n!
Thee we greet triumphant now,
Hail! the Refurrection-thou !

ASCENSION.

I.

H Ravila'd from our wifhful eyes!

AIL the day that fees him rise,

Chrift awhile to mortals giv'n,
Re-afcends his native heav'n.

There

There the pompous triumph waits,
"Lift your heads, eternal gates!
"Wide unfold the radiant fcene,
"Take the king of glory in !"
II.

Him, though highest heav'n receives,
Still he loves the earth he leaves;
Though returning to his throne,
Still he calls mankind his own.
Still for us he intercedes,
Prevalent his death he pleads;
Next himself prepares our place,
Harbinger of human race,

III.

Ever upward may we move,
Wafted on the wings of love;
Looking when our LORD fhall cɔme,

Longing, gasping after home!

There we shall with thee remain,
Partners of thine endless reign;
There thy face unclouded fee,

Find our heav'n of heav'ns in thee !

HI.

Loofe all your bars of maffy light,
And wide unfold th' etherial fcene;
He claims thefe mansions as his right,
Receive the King of glory in !
IV.

Who is the king of glory who?
The Lord that all his foes o'er came,
The world, fin, death, and hell o'erthrew,
And Jefus is the conqu’ror's hame,
V.

Lo! his triumphal chariot waits,
And angels chaunt the folemn lay,
Lift up your heads, ye heav'nly gates,
Ye everlasting doors give way!
VI.

Who is the King of glory who?

The Lord of glorious pow'r poffeft,

The King of faints and angels too,
God over all, for ever bleft!
