HYMN XLIV.

PSALM XCV. I.

I

AWAKE, and fing the fang.

Of Mofes and the Lamb,

Wake ev'ry heart and ev'ry tongue
To praise the Saviour's name.

[ocr errors]

Sing of his dying love,
Sing of his rifing power,
Sing how he intercedes above
For those whofe fins he bore,
III.

Sing 'till we feel our hearts
Ascending with our tongues,
Sing till the love of fin departs,
And grace inspires our songs.

IV.

Sing on your heav'nly way,
Ye ranfom'd finners fing,
Sing on rejoicing ev'ry day
In Chrift th' eternal king.

V.

Soon fhall ye hear him fay,
"Ye bleffed children come;"

Soon will he call you hence away,
And take his wand rers home.

For ever clos'd to all but thee:

That pledge of love for ever there.

How can it be thou heav'nly King
That thou should'ft man to glory bring!
Make flaves the partners of thy throne,
Deck'd with a never-fading crown!
IV.

Ah, Lord! enlarge our fcanty thought,
To know the wonders thou haft wrought,
Unloose our stamm'ring tongues to tell
Thy love immenfe, unfearchable.

Swell the triumph of his train :

Deeply wailing,

Shall the true Messiah fee.
