3 Yes, He sees and knows me daily
Watches over me in love;

Sends me help when foes assail me,
Bids me look above.

Soon my journey will be ended,
Life is drawing to a close:
I shall then be well attended-
This my Father knows

4 I shall then with joy behold Him,
Face to face my Father see;
Fall with rapture and adore Him,
For His love to me.

Nothing more shall then distress me,
In the land of sweet repose:
Jesus stands engaged to bless me-
This my Father knows.

TUNE-Songs of Love and Mercy, No. 208.
HE world looks very beautiful,
And full of joy to me:

TH

The sun shines out in glory
On everything I see;
I know I shall be happy
While in the world I stay,
For I will follow Jesus-
All the way.

2 I'm but a youthful pilgrim ;
My journey 's just begun :
They say I'll meet with sorrow
Before my journey's done.
The world is full of trouble,
And trials too, they say;
But I will follow Jesus-
All the way.

3 Then, like a little pilgrim,
Whatever I may meet,
I'll take it-joy or sorrow-
And lay at Jesus' feet.
He'll comfort me in trouble,

He'll wipe my tears away;
With joy I'll follow Jesus-
All the way.

4 Then trials cannot vex me,
And pain I need not fear,
For when I'm close by Jesus,
Grief cannot come too near.

I'M a on

'M a pilgrim, pilgrim on the road,

To the city of our God,

P.M.

I have left the way of sin, that I long had wandered in,
And I'm pressing t'ward the land, the land of glory,
On, on, on, I'm travelling on,

On to glory, on to glory;

I have left the way of sin,
That I long had wandered in,

And I'm travelling to the land, the land of glory.

I was burdened, burdened with a load,

Heavy burdened with a load,

When I started on the road.

'Twas the sin that I had done; my own hand had laid it on, Ere I started for the land, the land of glory.

I was weary, weary of the load,

Very weary of the load,

As I tottered o'er the road;

But the Saviour took the pack from the little pilgrim's back, And I'm travelling on with lightsome heart to glory.

OH, we're a band of brethren dear;

Who will join this happy band?
Who live as pilgrim strangers here;
Who will join this happy band?
Hallelujah! hallelujah!

We will join this happy band,
Singing hallelujah! hallelujah!
We will join this happy band.
2 The prophets and apostles too

Once belonged to this happy band;
And all God's children here below,
All have joined this happy band.
3 Let no contention e'er divide
Members of this happy band;
But firm, united, side by side,
Through this life together stand.

4 And when death comes, as come it must,
To divide this happy band,

The links will not return to dust,

They will shine at God's right hand.

'M a little pilgrim,

I'

And a stranger here;

Though this world is pleasant,
Sin is always near.

Jesus loves our pilgrim band,
He will lead us by the band,
Lead us to the better land,
Happy home on high.

2 Mine's a better country,
Where there is no sin;
Where the tones of sorrow
Never enter in.

3 But a little pilgrim

Must have garments clean,
If he'd wear the white robes,
And with Christ be seen.

4 Jesus, cleanse and save me;
Teach me to obey :
Holy Spirit, guide me
On my heavenly way.

5 I'm a little pilgrim,

And a stranger here;
But my home in heaven
Cometh ever near.

HRISTIANS, I am on my journey;
Ere I reach the narrow sea,

CHRI

I would tell the wondrous story,
What the Lord has done for me.
Hallelujah! hallelujah!

Though a stranger here I roam,
I am on my way to Zion,
I'm a pilgrim going home.

2 I was lost, but Jesus found me,

Taught my heart to seek His face;
From a wild and lonely desert

Brought me to His fold of grace.

3 Now my soul, with rapture glowing,
Sings aloud His pardoning love,
Looks beyond a world of sorrow
To the pilgrim's home above.

4 I shall yet behold my Saviour,
When the day of life is o'er;
I shall cast my crown before Him,
I shall praise Him evermore.

OH, when shall I see Jesus,

And reign with Him above,
And drink the flowing fountains
Of everlasting love?

When shall I be delivered

From this vain world of sin,
And with my blessed Jesus,
Drink endless pleasures in?

There is sweet rest in Jesus,
There is sweet rest in Him;
There is sweet rest, there is sweet rest,
There is sweet rest in Him.

2 Through grace I am determined
To conquer though I die;
And then away to Jesus,

2

On wings of love I'll fly;
Farewell to sin and sorrow,
I bid you all adieu;

And you, my friends, prove faithful,
And on your way pursue.

3 And when you meet with trials
And troubles on your way,
Then cast your care on Jesus,
And don't forget to pray :
Gird on the heavenly armour

Of faith, and hope, and love;
And when the combat 's ended,
You'll reign with Him above.

Amen, so let it be ;

Life from the dead is in that word,

"Tis immortality.

Here in the body pent,

Absent from Him I roam,

Yet nightly pitch my moving tent
A day's march nearer home.

My Father's house on high,
Home of my soul, how near,

At times to Faith's far-seeing eye,
Thy golden gates appear!

3 Ah, then my spirit faints
To reach the land I love,

4

The bright inheritance of saints,
Jerusalem above.

"For ever with the Lord!”
Father, if 'tis Thy will,

The promise of that faithful word
E'en here to me fulfil.

SLEEP in Jesus! blessed sleep,

ASL

L.M.

From which none ever wakes to weep;

A calm and undisturbed repose,
Unbroken by the last of foes.

2 Asleep in Jesus! oh, how sweet
To be for such a slumber meet;
With holy confidence to sing,

That death hath lost its venomed sting!
3 Asleep in Jesus! peaceful rest,
Whose waking is supremely blest!
No fear, no woe, shall dim that hour
Which manifests the Saviour's power.

4 Asleep in Jesus! oh, for me

May such a blissful refuge be!
Securely shall my ashes lie,

And wait the summons from on high.

HAP

APPY the children who are gone
To live with Jesus Christ in peace;
Who stand around His glorious throne,
Redeemed by blood, and saved by grace.
2 The Saviour, whom they loved below,
Hath kindly wiped their tears away :
No sin, no sorrow, there they know,
But dwell in one eternal day.

3 There to their golden harps they sing,
While tens of thousands join their songs,
Hosannas to the immortal King,

To whom immortal praise belongs.

4 O gracious Saviour! when shall we
Be brought with them in bliss to join ?—
Thy lovely countenance to see,

And sing Thy mercies all Divine ?
