In going over the Sermons, after all were thrown off, a few inaccuracies were discovered in the divisions, in the punctuation, and one or two literal ones, which it was not thought necessary to mark. The following are a little

more material.

SERMON I.

MEMORY OF THE RIGHTEOUS.

[Preached after the Interment of the EARL of LEVEN, June 20. 1802.]

PSALM CXii. 6.

The righteous fhall be in everlasting remembrance.

IN other words, They fhall long be re

membered with honour. The fon of David celebrates alfo the worthy name of the righteous. "The memory of the just is bleft." "A good name is rather to be chofen than great riches, and loving favour rather than filver and gold." It is pleasant and comfortable. "The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and a good report maketh the bones fat." In these, and similar aphorifms of the royal authors, is ftrongly declared the preciousness of a good reputation.
