2 Lead us to Christ, the living way, Nor leave us 'ere again to stray; Lead us to holiness, the road

Which we must take to dwell with God.

3 Lead us to God, our final rest,
To be with him for ever blest;
Lead us to heaven, that we may share
Angelic bliss for ever there.

[blocks in formation]

1 COME Holy Ghost, eternal God,

Proceeding from above,

Both from the Father and the Son,
The God of peace and love.

2 Visit our minds; our fallen hearts
With heavenly grace inspire;
That truth and godliness we may
Pursue with full desire.

3 Thou art the very Comforter
In grief and all distress,
The heavenly gift of God most high
Which tongue cannot express.

4 O Holy Ghost, into our minds
Send down thy heavenly light;
Kindle our hearts with fervent zeal
To serve God day and night.

5 Our weakness strengthen and confirm,
(For Lord thou knowest us frail;)

C. M.

That neither Satan or the world
Against us may prevail.

6 And grant thou Comforter divine,
Our Leader and our Guide,
We may escape the snares of sin,
And never from thee slide.

7 To God the Father be all praise,
And to his blessed Son,
And to the Spirit, source of
Co-equal Three in One.

COME

1 PETER i. 2.

grace,

OME, Holy Spirit, come,
Let thy bright beams arise;

Dispel the sorrow from our minds,
The darkness from our eyes.

Convince us of our sin,
Then lead to Jesus' blood;
And to our wondering view reveal
The amazing love of God.

Revive our drooping faith,
Our doubts and fears remove,
And kindle in our hearts the flame
Of never-dying love.

'Tis thine to cleanse the heart,
To sanctify the soul;

To pour fresh life on every part
And new create the whole.

Dwell therefore in our hearts,

Our minds from bondage free;

Then shall we know, and praise, and love,
The Father, Son, and Thee.

COME

OME, Holy Sprit, heavenly dove,
With thy almighty powers;

Kindle a flame of sacred love

In these cold hearts of ours.

2 Look, how we linger here below,
Fond of these earthly toys;
Although thou bid'st us onward go
To reach eternal joys.

3 In vain we tune our formal songs,
In vain we strive to rise;

Hosannas languish on our tongues,
And our devotion dies.

4 Dear Lord, and shall we ever be
In this poor dying state;

Our love so faint, so cold to thee,
And thine to us so great?

5 Come Holy Spirit, heavenly dove,
With thy almighty powers;
Come, shed abroad a Saviour's love,
And that shall kindle ours.

REVELATION v. 13.

COME
ME let us all unite to praise

The Saviour of mankind;

C. M.

C. M.

Our thankful hearts in solemn lays,
Be with our voices joined.

2 O Lord we cannot silent be;
By love we are constrained
To offer our best thanks to thee,
Our Saviour and our Friend.

3 Let every tongue thy goodness show,
And spread abroad thy fame;
Let every heart with praise o'erflow,
Love thee and bless thy name.

4 Worship and honor, thanks and love,
Be to our Saviour given,

By men below, by saints above,
By all in earth and heaven.

COME, let us join our

cheerful

songs

C. M.

With angels round the throne;
Ten thousand thousand are their tongues,
But all their joys are one.

2" Worthy the Lamb that died," they cry, "To be exalted thus;

99

"Worthy the Lamb," our lips reply, "For he was slain for us.

3 Jesus is worthy to receive

Honor and power divine;

[ocr errors]

And blessings more than we can give,
Be, Lord, for ever thine.

| 4 Let all that dwell above the sky,
And air, and earth, and seas,
Combine to lift thy glories high,
And speak thine endless praise.
5 The whole creation join in one,
To bless the sacred name

Of him that sits upon the throne,
And to adore the Lamb.

84 1CORINTH. xiii. 12 GAL. iii. 26. REV. vii. 14,15 C. M.

OME let us sing our Saviour's love

COME

His rich and matchless grace;

For we with all his saints above

Shall see him face to face.

2 There is salvation full and free

To those his love hath blessed;
His death has been our victory,
His toil our endless rest.

2 The Saviour's righteousness divine
Is the celestial robe,

In which his saints for ever shine
Before the throne of God.

3 And ever as we sing his name,
Who left his throne above

To bear our sorrow, sin, and shame,
We will adore his love.
