And as she went to fetch it, he called after her, faying: Bring me likewife, I pray thee, a morfel of bread in thy hand. And fhe answered: As the Lord thy God liveth, I have no bread, but only a handful of meal in a veffel, and a little oil in a pot: and behold I am gathering two fticks, that I may go home, and drefs it for me and my fon, that we may eat it, and die. Elias faid to her: Fear not, but go and do what thou haft said: but firft make for me of that little meal a small cake on the embers, and bring it to me: and afterwards thou shalt make fome for thy felf and thy fon. For thus faith the Lord God of Ifrael: The veffel of meal fhall not wafte, nor the pot of oil be diminished, till the day, in which the Lord fhall fend rain upon the earth. She went, and did as Elias had bid her; and
