A PSALM OF DAVID.

I.

JUDGE me, Jehovah, for I

Have walked in mine integrity :

And have put my trust in Jehovah :

May I not slide.

II.

Prove me, Jehovah, and try me :

My reins and my heart have been purified.
For Thy loving-kindness has been

Before mine eyes:

And in Thy truth I have walk'd.
I have not sat with liars,

And do not go with dissemblers :

The throng of ill-doers have hated,

And do not sit with the wicked.

I wash my hands in innocency,

And compass Thine altar, Jehovah,

Proclaiming with voice of thanksgiving,
And recounting all Thy wonders.
Jehovah, I have loved

The abode of Thy house;

The place where Thy glory resides.
Take not away

Nor

My soul with the wicked:

my

life with men of blood.

Whose hands are rife with crime :

And their right-hand is full of bribes.
But as for me,

I walk in mine integrity :

In Thy loving-kindness redeem me.

III.

12 My foot doth stand in an even place : I will bless Jehovah in the congregations.

PSALM XXVII.

A PSALM OF DAVID.

I.

JEHOVAH is my light and salvation :
Whom shall I fear?

Jehovah is the strength of my life:

Whom shall I dread ?

When the wicked, my foes and mine enemies,

Approach me to eat my flesh,

Themselves do stumble and fall.

Though a host encamp against me,

My heart doth not quail :

Though war rise against me, even then, am I confident.

One boon I have asked of Jehovah :

I seek it right earnestly:

To dwell all the days of my life

In the house of Jehovah :

Beholding Jehovah's beauty,

And musing thereon in His temple.

For He hides me in His pavilion

In the day of calamity :

Within His tent He conceals me :

On a rock He lifts me up.

And now shall my head be uplifted

Above my surrounding enemies :

And in His tent I will sacrifice
Sacrifices of shouting:

I will sing and hymn to Jehovah.

II.

Jehovah, hear, when I cry aloud:
Be gracious to me, and answer me.
To Thee, my heart hath repeated

That word of Thine, " Seek My face :"
Jehovah, Thy face do I seek.

Hide not from me Thy face:

Discard not Thy servant in anger.
Thou hast hitherto been my help :

Leave me not, neither forsake me,
O God of my salvation.

For

my father and mother forsake me : But Jehovah takes me up.

Jehovah, teach me Thy way:

And in an even path lead me,

Because of those who watch me.

12 Give me not up to the will of mine enemies : For breathers of violence rise up against me, And witnesses of falsehood.

III.

If I had not believed

To see Jehovah's goodness

In the land of the living.

Wait on Jehovah, be strong,

And may He strengthen thy heart :

Yea, wait on Jehovah.

A PSALM OF DAVID.

I.

ON Thee, Jehovah, I call:
My Rock, be not silent from me :
Lest, if Thou be silent from me,
I become like those
Who are going down to the pit.

Hear my loud supplication,

When I cry unto Thee:

When I raise my hands to Thy holy oracle.

"Reckon me not with the wicked:

"And with ungodly doers:

"Who speak indeed peace to their neighbours,

"But mischief is in their heart.

"Requite them after their deeds;

"And after their evil practices:

Requite them after the work of their hands;

"Render to them their desert.
