THE Lord Emmanuel is, without all controverfy, the alone fubject of this Pfalm: for proof whereof, befides what has been faid upon Pfalmi, &c. the evidence is direct, and perfectly conclufive from 2 Cor. ix. 9, 10. where the apostle, from the example of Chrift Jefus, enforceth the obligation upon Chriftians to cheerfulness and liberality in almfgiving, faying,As it is written,' (in this Pfalm), he hath difperfed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteou nefs remaineth for ' ever,' &c. Thanks be unto God for his un• speakable gift!' The Lord, the quick'ning Spirit, fees HIGH hallelujahs to our King! 2 His feed, fo glorious on the earth, 5 He's good, and lends to great and fmall, Expecting no return at all.
