The Lord preferves the meek and mild;
I was brought very low;
Then me he bore up as a child,
And made my joys o'erflow.

7 Return unto thy reft, my foul,
And wrap thee in his love;
His love alone did thee confole,
When thou did❜ft forrow prove:
8 For he from death redeemed thee,
Thine everlasting stay,

He kept thy feet from falling free,
He wip'd thy tears away.

9 In land of life, before the Lord,
I'll walk for evermore;

10 I fpoke, for I believ'd his word;
I was afflicted fore:

11 In day of my fierce agony,
As near to death I drew,
• All men are liars,' I did cry;
• But God alone is true:"

12 What fhall I render to the Lord
For all his love to me?

13 Thy loving-kindness I'll record,
And ever call on thee:
I'll hand around the cup of joy,
That all my friends may tafte;
I'll pledge my Spirit to convoy
Them fafe to land of reft.

14

This is my vow; I'll make it good
Before the Lord of Hofts:

I'll fill the land with gratitude

And joy in all her coafts.

15 Dear, in the estimate of God,
Are all his holy ones:

Behold, how precious is their blood;
How dear their dying groans !

10 Thy Servant, Lord, thy Servant, Lord,
Thine handmaid's Son, I come;
That men from death may be restor'd,
Myfelf fhall fill the tomb:
Thou alfo wilt my bonds untie,

And loofe me from the grave
For thou, among the dead to ly,
Thy fervant wilt not leavé ;

17 I'll rife, and live, and pay my vow
Of everlasting praife;

18 And all my faints with me. fhall bow, And fing thy glorious ways.

19

Within the courts of thine own houfe, #
Zion, in midft of thee,

Before the Lord, we'll pay our vows:
Praife to the Lord give ye.

THIS is the ftone which was fet at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the córner: neither is there falvation in any other; ⚫ for there is none other name under heaven given • among men, whereby we must be faved; A&is iv. 11. and Mat. xxi. 42.—See this Pfalm, ver. 22. with all the marginal references.

Thus in his day Messiah fang;

To whom the church, re-echoing, rang
Refponfive to his glorious praife,
Down to the prefent gospel-days:
And, to his fecond coming, they,
Who fhall be born, prolong the lay.
Then we fhall fhine in light divine,
Like funs, which never shall decline.
EXALT the voice of gratitude,

And blefs the Lord; for he is good:
For ever and for ever laft

His mercies, wherewith we are bleft. 2 Let Ifra'l now, rejoicing, fing

The tender mercies of her King;
The mercies wherein the is bleft;
The mercies which for ever last.

3 Let Aaron now advance and fing
Th' eternal mercies of his King,
And celebrate, in higheft ftrains,
His priefthood, which for aye remains,
4 Now let them all, who love the Lord,
With heart and voice, in fweet accord,
Join in their own Meffiah's praife,
And fay, His mercy ne'er decays:

He's my falvation now at length::
The tempeft now has ceas'd to roar,
Though all my day the ftorm I bore.

1.5 The voice of joy, the voice of praife,
And fweet falvation I will raife,
Within the tents of all the Juft,
Who in the Lord Jehovah truft:
The right hand of the mighty God
All valiantly hath valour fhow'd:
16 The right hand of the Lord is high;.
And ever does most valiantly.

17 I fhall not die, but live, and tell
God's works, in glory which excel::
18 He hath indeed chaftis'd ́me fore,
But not to death deliver❜d o'er.
19 Open to me th' eternal gate
Of righteoufnefs: behold,. I wait;
I'll enter in by righteousness;
And there Jehovah I'll confefs.

20 This is Jehovah's royal gate,
The Juft fhall enter in thereat;
In ftate and glory high they fhine,
Who enter by this gate divine.
21 I'll fing and praife thy name, O Lord,
Becaufe thou haft my foul reftor'd-

Which Jewish builders did reject,

The Lord hath made head Corner-ftone,
To found and rear his church thereon:
23 This work is God's, which we admire,.
Our whole falvation and defire:

34 This day his wonders fignalize;
Let fhouts of triumph hend the fkies.
Ye children, catch the joyful lays,
Left ftones should rival you in praife;
