PSALM XXV. To afcertain the meaning of this Pfalm, as attempted in the paraphrafe, and applied as spoken in the perfon of Chrift, (for the whole thereof is fpoken in one perfon), the candid inquirer will carefully confider not only the Pfalm itself, but alfo the parallels, and, of thefe, particularly Pfalmis lxxxvi. and cxliii. The Man who never lifted up To thee my elevated soul, Jehovah, takes her heav'nly flight; And fings thy praise with fweet delight. 2 My God, my God, in thee I hope; Let not my hope be put to fhame, Left that foes fhould take me up, my And bafely flur thy holy name: How would my foes exult and laugh, Unbleffed with thy gracious fmile! And take our refuge in thy name, But let confufion on them feize, 4 Thy ways, Jehovah, make me know; Thy footsteps cause my foul to keep : 5 Then, by thy truth, I'll boldly go: Thy truth shall never cause me weep. Till I fhall come and dwell with thee. No more the former things unfold. It concerns the reader thereof to be in the right, as much as the writer.
