The God of Abr’ham praise,

Whose all-sufficient grace
Shall guide me all my happy days,

In all his ways:
He calls a worm his friend!

He calls himself my God!
And he shall save me to the end,

Thro' Jesus' blood.

He by himself hath sworn ;

I on bis oath depend :
I shall, on angels' wings upborne,

To heav'n ascend !
I shall behold his face;

I shall his pow'r adore;
And sing the wonders of his grace

For evermore.

Tho' nature's strength decay,

And earth and hell withstand; To Canaan's bounds I urge my way,

At his command : The wat'ry deep I pass,

With Jesus in my view ; And through the howling wilderness

My way pursue.

The goodly land I see,

With peace and plenty blest; A land of sacred liberty,

And endless rest :

There milk and honey flow,

And oil and wine abound; And trees of life for ever grow,

With glory crown'd.

There dwells the Lord our King,

The Lord our Righteousness; Triumphant o'er the world and sin,

The Prince of Peace :
On Sion's sacred height.

His kingdom still maintains;
And glorious, with his saints in light,

For ever reigns.

He keeps his own secure;

He guards them by his side;
Arrays in garments bright and pure

His chosen bride:
With streams of sacred bliss,

With groves of living joys,
With all the fruits of Paradise,

He still supplies.
Before the great Three-One

His saints exulting stand,
And shout the wonders grace hath done,

Thro' all their land :
The list'ning spheres attend,

And swell the growing fame,
And sing in songs

that The wond'rous name.

neper end

O enter then his gates with praise, Approach with joy his courts unto; Praise, laud, and bless his name always, For it is seemly so to do.

For why? The Lord our God is good,
His mercy is for ever sure:
His truth at all times firmly stood,
And shall from age to age endure.

50. Praise the Lord. THRO' all the changing scenes of life,

In trouble and in joy,
The praises of my God shall still

Mỹ heart and tongue employ.
O! magnify the Lord with me,

With me exalt his name: When in distress to him I callid,

He to my rescue came.

O! make but trial of his love ;

Experience will decide
How blest they are, and only they,

Who in his truth confide.

Fear him, ye saints; and you will then

Не nothing else to fear:
Make you his service your delight;

He'll make your wants his care. ?

51. Praise for Divine Protection. To Sion's hill I lift my eyes,

From thence expecting aid; From Sion's hill, and Sion's God,

Who heav'n and earth has made.

Then thou, my soul, in safety rest,

Thy Guardian will not sleep;
His watchful care, that Isr'el guards,

Will thee in safety keep.
Shelter'd beneath Almighty wings,

Thou shalt securely rest,
Where neitber sun por moon shall thee

By day or night molest.
At home, abroad, in peace, in war,

Thy God shall thee defend;
Conduct thee through life's pilgrimage

Safe to thy journey's end.
