[ocr errors]

If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink.-JOHN vii. 37.

1 THE Saviour calls; let every ear
Attend the heavenly sound;

Ye doubting souls, dismiss your fear,
Hope smiles reviving round.

2 For every thirsty, longing heart,
Here streams of bounty flow;

And life, and health, and bliss impart,
To banish mortal woe.

3 Ye sinners, come, 'tis mercy's voice,

The gracious call obey;

Mercy invites to heavenly joys,
And can you yet delay ?

4 Dear Saviour, draw reluctant hearts,
To Thee let sinners fly,

And take the bliss Thy love imparts,
And drink and never die.

222 I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.-JER. xxxi. 34.

COME to the merciful Saviour who calls you,

O come to the Lord who forgives and forgets;
Though dark be the fortune on earth that befalls you,
There's a bright home above where the sun never sets.

20 come then to Jesus, whose arms are extended
To fold His dear children in closest embrace;
O come, for your exile will shortly be ended,
And Jesus will show you His beautiful face.

3 Yes, come to the Saviour, whose mercy grows brighter
The longer you look at the depths of His love;
And fear not! 'tis Jesus, and life's cares grow lighter
As you think of the home and the glory above.

4 O come then to Jesus, and say how you love Him,
And vow at His feet you will keep in His grace;
For one tear that is shed by a sinner can move Him,
And your sins will drop off in His tender embrace.

5 Come, come to His feet, and lay open your story
Of suffering and sorrow, of guilt and of shame;
For the pardon of sin is the crown of His glory,
And the joy of our Lord to be true to His name.
F. W. Faber.
