Sweet in the Confidence of Faith,
To truft his firm Decrees;
Sweet to lie paffive in his Hands,
And know no Will but his.

If fuch the Sweetnefs of the Streams,
What muft the Fountain be,
Where Saints and Angels draw their Bliss
Immediately from thee.

HYMN CCLXXV. C. M.

On John 6. 67.

HEN any

W any turn from Zion's Way,

(Alas! what Numbers do!)

Methinks I hear my SAVIOUR fay,
"Wilt thou forfake me too?”

Ah Lord! with fuch a Heart as mine,
Unless thou hold me faft,

I feel I muft, I fhall decline,
And prove like them at laft.

Yet thou alone haft Pow'r, I know,
To fave a Wretch like me;
To whom, or whither, could I go,
If I fhould turn from thee?

The Help of Men and Angels join'd,
Can never reach my Cafe ;

Nor can I hope Relief to find,
But in thy boundless Grace.

No Voice but thine can give me Reft,
And bid my Fears depart;

No Love but thine can make me bleft,
And fatisfy my Heart.

What Anguish has that Queftion ftirr'd,
If I will alfo go?

Yet, LORD, relying on thy Love,
I humbly Anfwer, No!

Thy Kingdom come.

H! when fhall we, fupremely bleft,
Enter into thy glorious Reft;

Partake the Triumph of the Sky,
And Holy, Holy, Holy, cry.

With all thy heav'nly Hofts, with all
Thy bleffed Saints, we then fhall fall,
And fing, in Extacy unknown,
And praife thee on thy dazling Throne.

And Thanks, and Bleffings evermore,
Who doft through endless Ages live,

For thou haft bid the Creatures be,
And ftill fubfift to Pleasure thee;
From thee they came, to thee they tend,
Their gracious Source, their glorious End.
