HYMN XXII. C. M.
The Heart refigned.

ORD take my Heart juft as it is,
Set up therein thy Throne ;

So fhall I love Thee above all,
And live to Thee alone.

Complete thy Work, and crown thy Grace,
O may I faithful prove!
And liften to the SPIRIT'S Voice,

Which manifefts thy Love!

Which teaches me what is thy Will,

And tells me what to do;
Which covers me with Shame, when]
Do not thy Will purfue.

This Unction may I ever feel.-1 John 2. 204
This Teaching from my LORD,
And learn Obedience to thy Voice,'
In thy reviving Word!

HYMN XXIII. C. M.

The Sweetness of Divine Love.
Deareft LORD, take Thou my Heart;
Where can fuch Sweetness be,

As I have tafted in thy Love,-Pfa. 34. 8.
As I have found in Thee?

If Zeal, with Knowledge in my Heart,
Thy loving Grace does give;

Safe in the Bufh, unhurt, the Whole
Will unconfumed live.-Exod. 3. 2.

If Love, that mildeft Flame, can reft
In Hearts fo cold as mine;

Come, bleffed SAVIOUR, to my Breast,
And warm my Love with Thine.

O'tis in vain to feek for Blifs,
For Blifs can ne'er be found,
'Till we arrive where JESUS is,
And tread on Grace's Ground.

'Tis Heav'n on Earth to tafte his Love,
To feel his quick'ning Grace:
And the bleft Heav'n I hope above,
Is there to fee his Face.

XXVI. 8s.

Redemption found.

OW I have found the bleffed Ground

NOW Where my Soul's Anchor may remain;

The LAMB of GOD who for my Sin
Was from the World's Foundation flain:
Whofe Mercy thall unfhaken stay
When Heav'n and Earth are fled away.

O Love, thou bottomlefs Abyfs!-Eph. 3. 18.
My Sins are swallow'd up in Thee;
Cover'd is my Unrighteousness,

(8.1.

From Condemnation now I'm free ;-Rom. While JESU's Blood, thro' Earth and Skies, Mercy, free boundless Mercy! cries.

With Faith I plunge me in this Sea;

Here is my Hope, my Joy, my Reft!

Hither, when Hell affails, I flee,

And look unto my SAVIOUR'S Breast; Away fad Doubt and anxious Fear, Mercy is only written there!

Though Waves and Storms go o'er my Head, Tho' Strength, and Health, and Friends be

(gone; Though Joys be wither'd all, and dead, Though ev'ry Comfort be withdrawn ;

Stedfaft on this my Soul relies,

FATHER, thy Mercy never dies.

Fix'd on this Ground will I remain,

When Heart fhall fail, and Fleth decay; This Ground fhall then my Soul fuftain, Though Earth's Foundations melt away;

Mercy's full Power I then fhall prove,
Lov'd with an everlasting Love!-Jer. 31. 3.

The Way to Canaan, If. 35.

ESUS, my All to Heav'n is gone,
He whom I fix my Hopes upon;
His Track I fee, and I'll purfue
The narrow Way, till Him I view.

The Way the holy Prophets went,
The Road that leads from Banishment;
The KING'S Highway of Holiness-Ifa. 35.8.
I'll go, for all his Paths are Peace.

No Stranger may proceed therein,
No Lover of the World and Sin;
No Lion, no devouring Care,
No Sin, nor Sorrow fhall be there.

No Creature may go up thereon,
But trav❜ling Souls, and I am one;
Way-faring Men to Canaan bound,
Shall only in the Way be found.
This is the Way I long had fought,
And mourn'd because I found it not;
My Grief a Burden long had been,
Oppreft with Unbelief and Sin.

The more I ftrove against their Pow'r,
I finn'd and ftumbled but the inore,

Till late I heard my SAVIOUR fay,

(14.6.

Come hither, Soul, I am the Way.”—John
