I

So united in heart,

That we never can part,

Till we meet at the feaft of the Lamb.

There, O! there at his fect,

We fhall fuddenly meet,

And be parted in body no more!

We fhall fing to our lyres,
With the heavenly choirs,

And our Saviour in glory adore.

Hallelujah we fing

To our Father and King,

And his rapt'rous praifes repeat;
To the Lamb that was flain
Hallelujah again,

Sing all heaven, and fall at his feet.

In affurance of hope

We to Jefus look up,

Till his banner's unfurl'd in the air

From our graves we shall fee,

And cry out, "It is he!"

And fly up to acknowledge him there.

HYMN CCXX.

NOME let us anew our journey pursue,
With vigour arise,

Co

And prefs to our permanent place in the skies; Of heav'nly birth tho' wand'ring on carth, This is not our place,

But ftrangers and pilgrims ourselves we confefs.

2 At Jefus's call we give up our all,

And still we forego,

For Jefus's fake, our enjoyments below;

No longing we find for th' country behind;
But onward we move,

And still we are seeking a country above.

3 A country of joy, that has no alloy; We thither repair,

Our hearts and our treasure already are there. We march hand in hand t' Immanuel's land; No matter what cheer

We meet with on earth, for eternity's near!

4 The rougher our way, the shorter our ftay; The tempefts that rife

Shall glorioufly hurry our fouls to the skies;
The fiercer the blaft, the fooner 'tis past;
The troubles that come,

Shall come to our rescue, and haften us home.

I

HYMN CCXXI.

COME and let us afcend,

CO

My companion and friend, To partake of the banquet above! If thy heart be as mine,

If for Jefus it pine,

Come up into the chariot of love.

2

Who in Jefus confide,

We are bold to out-ride

All the ftorms of affliction beneath!

With the prophet we foar

To the heavenly shore,

And out-fly all the arrows of death.

3

For by faith we are come

To our permanent home,

And by hope we the rapture improve:

4

5

And by love we still rise,

And look down on the fkies, For the heaven of heavens is love.

Who on earth can conceive,

In what pleasure we live

In the palace of God the great King! What a concert of praite,

When our Jefus's grace

The whole heavenly company fing!

What a rapturous fong,

When the glorify'd throng
In the fpirit of harmony join;
When unite the glad choirs,
With hearts, voices, and lyres,
And the burden is mercy divine.

6 Hallelujah, they cry,

7

To the King of the sky,
To the great everlasting I AM!
To the Lamb that was flain,
And now liveth again,

Hallelujah to God and the Lamb.

See the Lamb on the throne,
Lo! he dwells with his own,

And to rivers of pleafure he leads;
With his mercy's full blaze,
With the fight of his face,
Our beatify'd fpirits he feeds.

And our foreheads proclaim
His ineffable name;

And our bodies his glory difplay}

I

And a day without night,
We do feaft in his fight,
And eternity feems as a day!

HYMN CCXXII. C. M.

RY us, O God, and fearch the ground
Of ev'ry finful heart;

TRY

Whate'er of fin in us is found,
O bid it all depart !

2 When to the right or left we stray,
Leave us not comfortless;

But guide our feet into the way
Of everlasting peace.

3 Help us to help each other, Lord,
Each other's crofs to bear;
Let each his friendly aid afford,
And feel his brother's care.

4 Help us to build each other up,
Our little ftock improve;
Increase our faith, confirm our hope,
And perfect us in love.

5 Up into thee, our living Head,
Let us in all things grow;
Till thou haft made us free indeed,
And spotlefs here below.

6 Then, when the mighty work is wrought, Receive thy ready bride;

Give us in heav'n a happy lot
With all the fanctify'd.

THO

[blocks in formation]

HOU God of truth and love,
We feek thy perfect way,

Ready thy choice t' approve,

Thy providence t' obey;
Enter into thy wife defign,

And sweetly lose our will in thine.

2 Why haft thou caft our lot
In the fame age and place?
And why together brought
To fee each other's face;
To join with fofteft fympathy,
And mix our friendly fouls in thee?

3 Didft thou not make us one,
That we might one remain,
Together travel on,

And bear each other's pain;
Till all thy utmost goodness prove,
And rise renew'd in perfect love!

4 Surely thou didst unite

.

Our kindred fpirits here,
That all hereafter might

Before thy throne appear:

Meet at the marriage of the Lamb,
And all thy glorious love proclaim.

5 Then let us ever bear

The bleffed end in view,
And join with mutual care,

To fight our paffage through;
And kindly help each other on,
Till all receive the starry crown.
