HYMN LXXXII.

ATHER, Son and Holy Ghost,
One in Three, and Three in One,
As by the celestial hoft,

Let thy will on earth be done;
Praise by all to thee be giv'n,

Glorious Lord of earth and heav'n.

2 If fo poor a worm as I

May to thy great glory live,

All my actions fanctity,

All my words and thoughts receive,
Claim me for thy fervice, claim
All I have and all I am.

3 Take my foul and body's pow'rs!
Take my mem'ry, mind and will
All my goods, and all my hours,
All I know, and all I feel;
All I think, or speak, or do;
Take my heart; but make it new!

4 Now, O God, thine own I am :

Now I give thee back thine own; Freedom, friends, and health, and fame, Confecrate to thee alone :

Thine I live, thrice happy I;

Happier still if thine I die!

5 Father, Son, and Holy Ghoft,

One in Three, and Three in One,

As by the celeftial hoft,

Let thy will on earth be done;

Praise by all to thee be giv'n,

Glorious Lord of earth and heav'n.

HYMN LXXXIII. S. M.

JE

ESUS, my truth, my way,
My fure unerring light,
On thee my feeble fteps 1 ftay,
Which thou wilt guide aright,

2 My wisdom and my guide,
My counsellor thou art:

3:

5

7

O let me never leave thy fide,
Or from thy paths depart.

I lift mine eyes to thee,
Thou gracious bleeding Lamb,
That I may now enlighten'd be,
And never put to shame.

Never will I remove

Out of thy hands my cause,
But reft in thy redeeming love,
And hang upon thy cross.

Teach me the happy art,
In all things to depend,

On thee: O never, Lord, depart,
But love me to the end.

Still ftir me up to strive

With thee in ftrength divine;

And ev'ry moment, Lord, revive,
This fainting foul of mine.

Perfift to fave my foul
Throughout the fi'ry hour,
Till I am ev'ry whit made whole,
And fhew forth all thy pow'r.

Through fire and water bring
Me to the wealthy place;

.

9

And teach me the new fong to fing,
When perfected in grace!

O make me all like thec,
Before I hence remove!
Settle, confirm, establish me,

And build me up in love.

10 Let me thy witness live, When fin is all destroy'd:

I

And then my spotlefs foul receive,
And take me home to God.

HYMN LXXXIV. S. M.

O. in thy hand I lay,

And wait thy will to prove,

My Potter, ftamp on me thy clay,
Thine only ftamp of love:
Be this my whole defire,

I know that it is thine:
Then kindle in my foul a fire,
Which fhall for ever shine.

2 Thy gracious readiness

To fave mankind affert :
Thine image, love, thy name imprefs,
Thy nature on my heart:
Bowels of mercy, hear,

Into my foul come down:
Let it throughout my life appear,
That I have Chrift put on.

O plant in me thy mind!
O fix in me thy home!

So fhall I cry to all mankind,
Come to the waters, come!

I

Jefus is full of grace:

To all his bowels move; Behold in me ye fallen race, That God is only love!

HYMN LXXXV. L. M.

.

Be thou my hope, my joy, my rest! The glories that compofe thy name, Stand all engag'd to make me bleft.

2 Thou great and good, thou just and wise, Thou art my Father, and my God! And I am thine by facred ties,

Thy fon and fervant; bought with blood.

3 With heart, and eyes, and lifted hands,
For thee I long, for thee I look,
As travellers, in thirsty lands,

Pant for the cooling water-brook.

4 Even life itself, without thy love,
No lafting pleasure can afford;
Yea, 'twould a tirefome burden prove,
If I were banish'd from thee, Lord!
5 I'll lift my hands, I'll raife my voice,
While I have breath to pray or praise;
This work fhall make my heart rejoice,
Throughout the remnant of my days.

HYMN LXXXVI. L. M.

THOU, to whofe all-searching fight, The darknefs fhineth as the light, Search, prove my heart, it pants for thee; O burft thefe bonds and fet it free!

2 Wash out its ftains, refine its drofs, Nail my affections to the cross! Hallow each thought; let all within Be clean, as thou, my Lord, art clean.

3 If in this darksome wild I stray,
Be thou my light, be thou my way;
No foes, no violence I fear,

No fraud, while thou, my God, art near.

4 When rifing floods my foul o'erflow, When finks my heart in waves of woe, Jefus, thy timely aid impart,

And raife my head, and cheer my heart.

5 Saviour, where'er thy fteps I fee,
Dauntless, untir'd I follow thee
O let thy hand fupport me ftill,
And lead me to thy holy hill!

6 If rough and thorny be the way,
My strength proportion to my day;
Till toil, and grief, and pain fhall cease,
Where all is calm, and joy, and peace.

HYMN LXXXVII. L. M.

I ESUS, thou everlasting King, accept the tribute which we bring, Accept thy well-deferv'd renown, And wear our praifes as thy crown.

Let ev'ry act of worship be
Like our efpoufals, Lord, to thee:
Like the bleft hour, when from above,
We first receiv'd the pledge of love.
