O may it ever, ever ftay!

Nor let our faith forfake its hold,
Nor hope deciine nor love grow cold!

4 Each following minute as it flies,
Increafe thy praise, improve our joys,
Till we are rais d to fing thy name,
At the great fupper of the Lamb,

HYMN LXXXVIII.

COME, Lord, from above, the mountains

remove,

O'erturn all that hinders the course of thy love: My bofom infpire, inkindle the fire,

And wrap my whole foul in the flames of defire.

2 I languish and pine, for comfort divine, O when shall I fay, "my beloved is mine, "I've chose the good part, my portion thou art, “O Love, I have found thee, O God, in my heart!"

3 For this my heart fighs, nought elfe can fuffice: [price? How, Lord, can I purchase the pearl of great It cannot be bought; thou know'ft I have

nought;

No action or word, or a truly good thought;

4 But merey doth fay, tho' poor, yet you may
Receive it, whoever hath nothing to pay :
Who on Jefus relies, without money or price,
The pearl of forgiveness and holiness buys.

5 The bleffing is free, fo, Lord, let it be:
I yield that thy love thould be given to me:

Thou freely doft give; I freely receive, And yield to thy love, in thine Eden to live. 6 The gift I embrace, the giver I praise, Afcribing falvation to Jefus's grace;

It came from above, the foretaste I prove, And foon fhall receive all thy fulness of love.

HYMN LXXXIX. S. M,

ND can I yet delay

A My little all to give?

To tear my foul from earth away,
For Jefus to receive?

Nay, but 1 yield, I yield!

I can hold out no more;
I fink, by dying love compell'd,
And own thee conqueror !

Though late I all forfake,
My friends, my all refign;

Gracious Redeemer, take, O take,
And feal me ever thine!

Come and poffefs me whole,
Nor hence again remove:
Settle and fix my wav'ring foul
With all thy weight of love.

My one defire be this,

Thine only love to know:

To feek and tafte no other blifs,

No other good below:

My life, my portion thou,

Thou all-fufficient art,

My hope, my heav'nly treasure, now

Enter and keep my heart!

HYMN XC.

HOU Shepherd of Ifrael and mine, The joy and defire of my heart, For clofer communion I pine,

I long to refide where thou art; The pafture I languish to find,

Where all who their fhepherd obey, Are fed, on thy bofom reclin'd,

And fcreen'd from the heat of the day.

2 Ah! fhew me that happieft place,
That place of thy people's abode,
Where faints in an ecftacy gaze
And hang on a merciful God:
Thy love for a finner declare,
Thy paffion and death on the tree;
My fpirit to Calvary bear,

To fuffer and triumph with thee.

3 'Tis there with the lambs of thy flock, There only I covet to reft;

I

To lie at the foot of the rock,
Or rife to be hid in thy breaft
'Tis there I would always abide,
And never a moment depart;
Conceal'd in the cleft of thy fide,
Eternally held in thy heart.

HYMN XCI, S. M.

ESUS, my Lord, attend

Thy feeble creature's cry:

And flew thyfelf the finner's friend,
And let me up on high;

From hell's oppreffive pow'r
My ftruggling foul release;
And to thy Father's grace reftore;
And to thy perfect peace.

2 Thy blood and righteoufnefs
I'make my only plea;
My prefent and eternal peace
Are both derivedf rom thee;
Rivers of life divine

From thee their fountain flow;
And all who know that love of thine,
The joy of angels know.

3 Come then, impute, impart To me thy righteoufnefs,

I

And let me taite how good thou art,
How full of truth and grace:
That thou canft heref orgive,
Grant me to testify,

And juftify'd by faith to live,
And in that faith to die.

HYMN XCII. C. M.

EING of beings, God of love,
To thee our hearts we raife;
Thy all-fuftaining power we prove,
And gladly fing thy praife.

Thine, wholly thine, we pant to be,
Our facrifice receive;

Made, and preferv'd and fav'd by thee,
To thee our fouls we give.

3 Heav'n-ward our ev'ry with aspires, For all thy mercy's flore;

The fole return thy love requires,
Is that we ask for more.

4 For more we afk: we open then
Our hearts t' embrace thy will:
Turn and beget us, Lord, again;
With all thy fulness fill.

5 Come, Holy Ghoft, the Saviour's love
Shed in our hearts abroad!
So fhall we ever live and move,
And be with Chrift in God.

By thy all-piercing beam;

Lighten mine eyes with faith, my heart
With holy hope inflame.

3 My mind by thy all-quick'ning pow'r From low delires fet free;

Unite my scatter'd thoughts, and fix
My love entire on thee.

4 Father, thy long-loft fon receive;
Saviour, thy purchase own;
Bleft Comforter, with peace and joy,
Thy new-made creature crown

5 Eternal, undivided Lord,

Co-equal, One in Three,

On thee all faith, all hope be plac'd,
All love be paid to thee.
