4 Lord, I believe thy precious blood,
Which at the mercy-seat of God
For ever doth for sinners plead,
For me, ev'n for my soul was shed.
5 Lord, I believe, were sinners more
Than sands upon the ocean shore,
Thou hast for ALL aransom paid,
For ALL a full atonement made.
1 FOUNTAIN of Life and of Grace In Christ, our Redeemer, we see: * For us, who his offers embrace; - For all, it is open and free: Jehovah himself doth invite To drink of his pleasures unknown; The streams of immortal delight, That flow from his heavenly throne.
* As soon as in him we believe,
By faith of his Spirit we take:
And, freely forgiven, receive
The mercy for Jesus's sake!
We gain a pure drop of his love;
The life of etermity know;
Angelical happiness prove,
And witness a heaven below.
1 Wo am I, O thou glorious God!
And what my Father’s house to thee?
That thou such mercies hast bestow'd
On me, the vilest reptile, me!
I take the blessing from above,
And wonder at thy boundless love.
3 Honour, and might, and thanks, and praise,
I render to my pard’ming God!
Extol the riches of thy grace,
And spread thy saving name abroad;
That only name to sinners given,
Which lifts poor dying worms to heaven.
4 Jesus, I bless thy gracious power,
And all within me shouts thy Name;
Thy Name let every soul adore,
* Thy power let every tongue proclaim:
Thy grace let every sinner know,
And find in thee their heaven below.
! EET and right it is to sing,
In every time and place,
Glory to our heavenly King,
The God of Truth and grace.
Join we then with sweet accord,
All in one thanksgiving join!
Holy, holy, holy Lord,
Eternal praise be thine!
2 Thee, the first-born sons of light,
In choral symphonies,
Praise by day, day without might,
And never, never cease;
Angels and archangels, all
Praise the mystic Three in Ome;
Sing, and stop, and gaze, and fall
O'erwhelm’d before thy throne:
3 Vieing with that heavenly choir,
Who chant thy praise above;
We on eagles’ wings aspire,
The wings of faith and love;
Thee, they sing, with glory crown'd;
We extol the slaughter'd Lamb;
Lower if our voices sound,
Our subject is the same.
4 Father, God, thy love we praise,
Which gave thy Son to die;
Jesus, full of truth and grace,
Alike we glorify;
Spirit, Comforter divine,
Praise by all to thee be given,
Till we in full chorus join,
And earth is turn’d to heaven.
1 Fol. in whom we live,
In whom we are, and move,
The glory, power, and praise receive
Of thy creating love. ”
2 Let all the angel throng
Give thanks to God on high,
While earth repeats the joyful song,
And echoes through the sky.
3 Incarnate Deity,
Let all the ransom'd race
Render in thanks their lives to thee,
For thy redeeming grace:
4. The grace to sinners show'd
Ye heavenly choirs proclaim,
And cry Salvation to our God,
Salvation to the Lamb :
5 Spirit of Holiness,
Let all thy saints adore - -
Thy sacred energy, and bless * .
Thy heart-renewing power.
6 Not angel-tongues can tell
Thy love's ecstatic height,
The glorious joy unspeakable,
The beatific sight!
7 Eternal Triune Lord .
Let all the hosts above,
Let all the sons of men record,
And dwell upon thy love :
3 When heaven and earth are fled
Before thy glorious face,
Sing, all the saints thy love hath made,
Thime everlasting praise 1
1 ESUS is our common Lord,
J He our loving Saviour is;
By his death to life restor’d,
Misery we exchange for bliss.
Bliss to carnal minds unknown:
O 'tis more than tongue can tell!
Only to believers shown:
r Glorious and unspeakable.
2 Christ, our Brother and our Friend,
Shows us his etermal love:
Never shall our triumphs end,
Till we take our seats above.
Let us walk with him in white,
For our bridal day prepare;
For our partnership in light,
For our glorious meeting there!
Paradise.] HYMN 295. C. M.
1. O *TIS delight, without alloy,
Jesus, to hearthy mame;
My spirit leaps with inward joy,
I feel the sacred flame.
2 My passions hold a pleasing reign,
When love inspires my breast,
Love, the divinest of the train,
The sov’reign of the rest.
3 This is the grace must live and sing, When faith and hope shall cease,
Must sound from every joyful string
Through the sweet groves of bliss.
4 Let life immortal seize my clay;
Let love refine my blood;
Her flames can bear my soul away,
Can bring me mear my God.
5 Swift I ascend the heavenly place,
And hasten to my home,
I leap to meet thy kind embrace,
I come, O Lord, I come.
6 Sink down, ye separating hills,
Let sin and death remove;
'Tis love that drives my chariot-wheels,
And death must yield to love. |
1. HE wisdom own’d by all thy sons,
To me, O God, impart,
The knowledge of the holy Ones,
The understanding heart.
Thy name, O holy Father, tell -
To one who would believe;
To me thine only Son reveal,
Thy Holy Spirit give,
