PSALMS AND HYMNS,
FOR PUBLIC WORSHIP.
“ Whoso offereth Praise, glorifieth me.” Ps. I. 23.
PRINTED AND PUBLISHED BY S. MASON.
THE HONOURABLE AND RIGHT REVEREND
LORD BISHOP OF LICHFIELD
PSALMS AND HYMNS
WITH HIS LORDSHIP'S PERMISSION,
BY HIS MOST OBEDIENT
AND OBLIGED SERVANT,
Psalm 1. (c.m.) The difference between the righteous and the wicked. 1 BLESS'D is the man, who shuns the place
Where sinners love to meet: Who fears to walk in wicked ways,
And dreads the scorner's seal. 2 The word of God is his delight:
There all his thoughts abide;
By day his constant guide. 3 As some fair tree, whose roots are spread
Where living streams abound,
With fruitful clusters crown'd; 4 So shall the trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord,
Their timely fruit afford.
Like chaff before the wind;
Nor slighted mercy find.
And crowns with endless days:
They perish in their ways.
