8 The worlds of nature and of grace.
Are put beneath thy pow'r; A new Song to the Lamb that was flain. Rev. v. 6, 8, 9, 10, 12.
Then shorten these delaying days,
And bring the promis'd hour.
And songs before unknown.. 3, 14; and Col. i. 16; and Epb. iii. 9, 10. 2 Let elders worship at his feet, ERE the blue heav'ns were ftretch'd
The church adore around;
Froin everlasting was the word :
With God he was; the word was God,',
And must divinely be ador'd.. 3 Those are the pray’rs of all the faints, And these the hymns they raise :
2 By his own pow'r were all things made Jesus is kind to our complaints,
By him supported all things stand;
He is the whole creation's head, He loves to hear our praise.
And angels fly at his command.. 4 [Eternal Father, who shall look
3 Ere sin was born, or Satan fell, Into thy secret will ?
He led the host of morning stars ;; Who but the Son shall take that book, (Thy generation who can tell, And open ev'ry seal?
Òr count the number of thy years ?)? ç He shall fulfil thy great decrees 4
But lo, he leaves those heav'nly forms,', The Son deserves it well;
The Word descends and dwells in clay, • Lo, in his hand the fov'reign keys
That he may hold converse with worms, , Of heav?r, and death, and hell! ] Dress'd in such feeble flesh as they: . Now to the Lamb, that once was slain, s Mortals with joy beheld his face Be endless blessings paid ;
Th' eternal Father's only Son ;., Salvation, glory, joy, remain
How full of truth! how full of grace! Forever on thy head.
When thro' his eyes the Godhead fhone ! 7 Thou hast redeem'd our souls with blood, 6 Archangels. leave their high abode, Hast set the pris'ners free,
To learn new myst'ries here and tell Halt made us kings and prieits to God, The love of our descending God,
And we fall.reign with thee... The glorics-of Immanuel.
