Once more, before we part

Our Lord, who knows full well
Our Shepherd alone

Peace! 'tis the Lord Jehovah's hand
Phyfician of my fin-fick foul

Poor, weak, and worthless tho' I am
Praise to the Lord, who bows his ear
Rejoice evermore, with angels above
Rejoice, the Lord is King

Rich grace, free grace moft fweetly calls
Rife, my foul, and ftretch thy wings

Rock of ages, cleft for me

Salvation, O the rapt'ious found
See Ifrael's gentle Shepherd ftand
See, Lord, before thy throne of grace
Shepherd of Ifrael, bend thine ear
Shepherd of Ifrael, thou dost keep
Son of God! thy bleffing grant
Sons of God, by bleft adoption
Source of light, and pow'r divine
Sun of righteousness anife

Sweet the time, exceeding fweet

Thanks for mercies paft, receive
The God of Abraham praife

The goodly land I fee

The King of heav'n his table spreads
The Lord of earth and sky

The Saviour, O what endless charms
The food on which thy children live
The Lord my pasture fhall prepare
The God who once to Ifrael fpoke
The law of the Lord is worthy our fongs
There is a fountain filled with blood

Thy promife, Lord, and thy command
Thy mercy, my God, is the theme, &c.

This God is the God we adore
Thou dear Redeemer, dying Lamb
Thou God of glorious Majefty
Thou only fov'reign of my heart

Try us, O God, and fearch the ground
'Twas love that brought the Saviour down

Welcome and precious to my foul

What tho' my frail eye-lids refufe

When all thy mercies, O my God
When, gracious Lord, when fhall it be
When Hannah, prefs'd with grief
When Ifrael was from Egypt freed
When, O dear Jefus, when fhall I
When with my mind devoutly preft
With heart and lips unfeign'd
With heav'nly pow'r, O Lord, defend

Ye dying fons of men

Ye mourning finners, here difclofe

Ye fervants of God, your master proclaim
Ye that in his courts are found

HYMNS,

HYMNS,

COLLECTED

FROM VARIOUS AUTHORS.

HYMN I.

At the Opening of Worship. Peculiar Metre.

HOME, thou Almighty King,

COME

Help us thy name to fing,
Help us to praise !

Father, ali-glorious,

O'er all victorious,

Come, and reign over us,
Ancient of Days!

Jefus, our Lord, arife,

Scatter our enemies,

And make them fall!

Let thine almighty aid
Our fure defence be made,

Our fouls on thee be ftay'd
Lord, hear our call!

Come, thou incarnate Word,
Gird on thy mighty fword,
Our prayer attend!

Come, and thy people biefs,
And give thy Word fuccels;
Spirit of holiness,

On us defcend!

Come, holy Comforter,
Thy facred witness bear,
In this glad hour!

Thou, who Almighty art,
Now rule in ev'ry heart,
And ne'er from us depart,
Spirit of pow'r!

To the great One in Three,
Eternal praifes be,

Hence-evermore !

His fov reign Majefty

May we in glory fee,

And to eternity

Love and adore.

11. Another. Short Metre.

OME, Holy Spirit, come,
Let thy bright beams arife;

Difpel the darknets from our minds,

And open all our eyes.

Convince us of our fin,

Then lead to Jefu's blood;

And to our wond'ring view reveal

The fecret love of God.

Revive our drooping faith,
Qur doubts and fears remove;

And kindle in our breasts the flames
Of never-dying love.

'Tis thine to cleanse the heart,
To fanctify the foul,
To pour fresh life on ev'ry part,
And new-create the whole.

[If thou, celeftial Dove,
Thine influence withdraw,
What eafy victims foon we fail
To confcience, wrath, and law!

No longer burns our love;
Our faith and patience fail;
Our fin revives, and death and hell
Our feeble fouls affail]

Dwell therefore in our hearts,
Our minds from bondage free ;

Then fhall we know, and praile, and love
The Father, Son, and Thee..

ORD, we come before thee now ;
At thy feet we humbly bow:

O! do not our fuit dildain;
Shall we feek thee, Lord, in vain ?

Lord, on thee our fouls depend,
In compaffion now descend;
Fill our hearts with thy rich grace,
Tune our lips to fing thy praile,
In thine own appointed way,
Now we feek thee-here we stay;
Lord, we know not how to go
'Till a bleffing thou bestow.
