"The Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall
feed them."-Rev. vii. 17.

I How bright these glorious spirits shine!
Whence all their white array?

How came they to the blissful seats
Of everlasting day?

P 2 Lo! these are they, from sufferings great,
Who came to realms of light;

And in the Blood of Christ have washed
Those robes which shine so bright.

F 3 Now with triumphal palms they stand
Before the throne on high,

And serve the God they love amidst
The glories of the sky.

F 4 His presence fills each heart with joy,
Tunes every mouth to sing;

By day, by night, the sacred courts
With glad Hosannas ring.

5 Hunger and thirst are felt no more,
Nor suns with scorching ray;

God is their Sun, whose cheering beams
Diffuse eternal day.

6 The Lamb which dwells amidst the throne
Shall o'er them still preside,

Feed them with nourishment divine,
And all their footsteps guide.

7 In pastures green He'll lead His flock

cres.

Where living streams appear;
And God the Lord from every eye
Shall wipe off every tear.

Amen.

ST. PETER

C.M.

A. R. REINAGLE, d. 1877.

387 "Lord, how excellent is Thy Name in all the earth.”—Ps. viii. 1.

I How sweet the Name of Jesus sounds
In a believer's ear!

It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds,
And drives away his fear.

2 It makes the wounded spirit whole,
And calms the troubled breast;
'Tis manna to the hungry soul,
And to the weary rest.

3 Dear Name! the rock on which I build!
My shield and hiding-place!
My never-failing treasury, filled
With boundless stores of grace!

4 Jesus! my Shepherd, Brother, Friend,
My Prophet, Priest, and King,
My Lord, my Life, my Way, my End,
Accept the praise I bring.

5 Weak is the effort of my heart, And cold my warmest thought; cres. But when I see Thee as Thou art, f I'll praise Thee as I ought.

6 Till then I would Thy love proclaim
With every fleeting breath;
And may the music of Thy Name
Refresh my soul in death! Amen,
