“While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”—Rom. v. 8.
P 1 THERE is a green hill far away,
Without a city wall,
Who died to save us all.
2 We may not know, we cannot tell,
What pains He had to bear,
He hung and suffered there.
3 He died that we might be forgiven,
He died to make us good,
Saved by His precious Blood.
4 There was no other good enough
To pay the price of sin,
Of heaven, and let us in.
5 Oh, dearly, dearly has He loved,
And we must love Him too,
And try His works to do. Amen.
1 THERE's a Friend for little children
Above the bright blue sky,
Whose love will never die :
Who change with changing years, This Friend is always worthy
The precious name He bears. 2 There's a Rest for little children,
Above the bright blue sky, Who love the blessed Saviour
And to the Father cry,A rest from every trouble,
From sin and danger free, Where every little pilgrim
Shall rest eternally. 3 There's a Home for little children
Above the bright blue sky, Where Jesus reigns in glory,
A home of peace and joy;
No home on earth is like it,
Nor can with it compare,
Nor could be happier there.
Above the bright blue sky;
Shall wear it by-and-by,
Which He will then bestow
And walk with Him below.
Above the bright blue sky, And a harp of sweetest music
And a palm of victory:
And found in Christ alone :
That all may be your own! Amen.
“Thou, O Lord, art our Father, our Redeemer.”—Isa. Ixiii. 16.
Thy Son came down from heaven
To take away our sin, Thy Spirit dwells among us
To make us clean within.
1 THE hours of day are over,
The evening calls us home;
With thankful hearts we come ;
We praise Thy holy Name,
Through days and years the same. 2 For life, and health, and shelter
From harm throughout the day,
The gladness of our play;
Of parents, brothers, friends,
Who these and all things sends. 3 But these, O Lord, can show us
Thy goodness but in part ;
To know Thee as Thou art ;
4 For this, O Lord, we bless Thee,
For this, we thank Thee most,-
The saving of the lost ;
The Friend for ever nigh, cres. The Home prepared by Jesus
f For us above the sky.
To meet Thee there at last,
And earthly days are past;
In that eternal home,
And night shall never come ! Amen.
