PART IV. O WISDOM, who o'er earth below
Key of the house of David, come ! Forth from the mouth of God didst flow; Re-open Thou our heavenly home, The path of prudence teach, that we Make safe the way that we must go, May dwell eternally with Thee.
And close the paths that lead below. Draw nigh and help us when we call, Draw nigh, draw nigh, with us to dwell, And strongly, sweetly, order all.
And save us, Lord, from sin and hell.
To give us comfort from on high ; Didst give, of ancient times, Thy Law, .. Drive Thou away the gloom of night, In cloud, and majesty, and awe.
And pierce the clouds, and bring us light; Draw nigh, draw nigh, with us to dwell, Draw nigh, draw nigh, with us to dwell, And save, O God, Thine Israel.
In mercy save Thine Israel.
O Thou on whom the Gentiles wait, And save us from our enemies;
Who midst the nations shalt be great, And set us free from Satan's chains, Thy Church's chief and corner-stone, And from the pit with all its pains. Who in Thyself hast made all one ; Draw nigh, draw nigh, with us to dwell, Draw nigh and save, for Thine own sake, In haste to save Thine Israel.
