21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment :

22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the 'altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way: first be "reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.9

Now Moses commanded us that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? HEB. xiii. 4: Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman 10 to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

29 And if thy "right eye offend thee," pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish,

JOB, XXXI. 1: I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid. PRO. vi. 25: Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. 2 PET. ii. 14: Having eyes full of adultery. See GEN. xxxiv. 2. 2 SAM. xi. 2.

" Ps. cxix. 37: Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity. MAT. xviii. 8, 9: Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee; it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. If thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. MARK, ix. 43, 47: If thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

• MAT. xix. 12: There are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb; and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it. ROM. viii. 13: If ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the spirit, do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 1 COR. ix. 27: I keep under my body, and bring it unto subjection lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I myself should be a cast-away. COL. iii. 5: Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, &c.

31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement.

32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall "put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

The LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously yet is she thy companion and the wife of thy covenant. And did not he make one? yet had he the residue of the spirit: and wherefore one? that he might seek a godly seed, therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. MARK, X. 11: Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. ROм. vii. 3: So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress : but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. 1 COR. vii. 10, 11: Unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
