3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth fis not in him.

5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: 'hereby know we that we are in him.

6 He that saith he *abideth in him 1ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 7 Brethren, "I write no new commandment unto you, but an old2 commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. 8 Again, a "new commandment I write unto

P1 JOHN, iv. 2, 3: Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 2 JOHN, 7: Many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
