Luke x. 16. He that heareth you, heareth me ; and he that despiseth you, despiseth me; and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me. 1 Cor. iv. 1. Matt. x. 10. For the workman is worthy of his meat. Luke x. 7, 8. And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you. 1 Cor. ix. 13, 14. Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple! and they which wait at the altar are partakers of the altar? Even so the Lord hath ordained that they which preach the Gospel should live of the Gospel. Gal. vi. 6. Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Numb. xviii. 21. 24. And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the Lord, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance. Heb. vii. 5. And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham.
