Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Gal. iii. 10. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. Jer. ii. 8. The priests said not, Where is the Lord? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the Lord, nor the judgment of their God. I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the Lord, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds. 1 Sam. ii. 25. If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the Lord, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the Lord would slay them. Acts v. 4. Whiles it remained, was it not thine own; and after it was sold was it not in thine own possession? Why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? Thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. Rom. ii. 4. Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness, and forbearance, and long-suffering: not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? Heb. ii. 2, 3. For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense

of reward; how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him? Heb. x. 29. Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? Ephes. iv. 30. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Heb. vi. 4-6. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance, seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Jude 8. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. Prov. xxx. 17. And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice. James i. 14, 15. But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed: then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Matt. xviii. 7. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh, Matt. xi. 21, 22. Woe unto thee Chorazin!

woe unto Bethsaida! for if the mighty works which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in dust and ashes. But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment, than for you. John xv. 22. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin :

Isai. i. 3. The ox

but now, they have no cloke for their sin. knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider. Jer. v. 3. O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction; they have made their faces harder than a rock, they have refused to return. Rom. i. 32. Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death; not only do the same, but also have pleasure in them that do them. Ps. xxxvi. 4. He deviseth mischief upon his bed: he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil. Jer. xvi. 16. Ps. lii. 1. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually. 3 John 10. Prov. ii. 14. Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked. 2 Pet. ii. 20, 21. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. Ezek. xxiii. 37-39. That they have committed adultery, and blood, is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.

Moreover, this they have done unto me; they have defiled my sunctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths. 1 Cor. xi. 20, 21. When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper. For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. 1 Sam. ii. 23, 24. And he. said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by this people. Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear, ye make the Lord's people to transgress. Rom. ii. 17-24. Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God, and knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law; and art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge, and of the truth in the law. Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself! Thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? Thou that sayest, a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? Thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God? For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written. (1 John iii. 4. See above.) Rom. vi. 23. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Ephes. ii. 3. See above.) (Gal. iii. 10. See above.) 2 Pet. iii. 9. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Matt. xii. 31. Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men,

Rom. iii. 20-26. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God, which is by faith of Jesus Christ, unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ; whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time, his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 1 Tim. i. 15. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Heb. ix. 28. Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time, without sin unto salvation. Rom. v. 20, 21. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: that as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign, through righteousness, unto eternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. viii. 1. 13. There is now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye, through the Spirit, do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
