Christ stilleth the tempest. CHAP. IX. 23 ¶ And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. He calls Matthew. 7 And he arose, and departed to his house. 8 But when the multitude saw it, they 24 And behold, there arose a great tem- marvelled, and glorified God, which had 9 And as Jesus passed forth from pest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was given such power unto men. Covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 25 And his disciples came to him, and thence, he saw a man named Matthew, saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we sitting at the receipt of custom: and he perish. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye and followed him. 10 ¶ And it came to pass, as Jesus sat fearful, Oye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with there was a great calm. 27 But the men marvelled, saying, him and his disciples. Even so shall it be also unto this any time they should see with their eyes, wicked generation. and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 46 ¶ While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. 47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. 17 For, verily,I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired 48 But he answered and said unto him to see those things which ye see, and that told him, Who is my mother? and have not seen them; and to hear those who are my brethren? things which ye hear, and have not heard 49 And he stretched forth his hand to-them. |
